I like fighting up close, but my DW rogue is utter garbage. I dislike going into stealth just to stab someone in the butt from behind. As to why i picked DW, my origins run had a dual wielding warrior. This is the closest it can get so i chose DW rogue. However, they are very squishy and prone to death. Anyone got a build, suggestion, etc as to make a rogue less shadowy butt poker and more charge head first with two swords slashing like a bad***?

is this the right forum? I can't tell.

In other news, Where is my dual wielding warrior option?!?@?? i miss that T.T

Try crafting armor that builds guard on hit and daggers that heal on kill.

Use parry manually from the dual wield tree to counter lighter attacks. I'm unsure that parry will work against heavier attacks (as the only DW rogue in Inquisition I've played was Cole, and I built him to be a sneaky shadowy butt poker), you might wanna dodge those.

The closest you can get is a melee Tempest but even with Guard On Hit, your rogue will suck as a tank.

Truthfully, you would be better off playing a warrior rather than trying to play a rogue like one.

You can get to the point where you are a fast moving ninja, keeping up the fight but moving from front to back a lot.  I run a rogue dagger/artificer on hard and stealth is more of a momentary thing.  I use flank attack+ a lot and due to artificer cooldown reduction can basically spam spinning blades.  I use evade and flank attack for movement and dance around the battlefield.

That is possible but I still use stealth on occasion and I always move behind or to the side of guys with shields.  If you want I can post a build but it took time to get there.  At low levels I mostly use flank attack+, twin fangs and hit a few times, then flank attack+ to get into stealth and reposition.

Later you can use silverite ore to craft yourself some heavy armor.

Sure,

The build is heavily dependant on keeping a high crit team to fuel opportunity knocks.  This is from my worksheet and differs a bit from what I took in practice.  I never upgraded elemental mines since I don't like using up stamina.  And you can see I don't get Spinning Blades into the build until level 13 or so.

The biggest impact would be in improved behavior modeling and for the rogue a weapon switch capability as well as sneak and invisibility for other folks that like stealth.  Go to sera's area and request new features directly from the team lead -being specific to Sera will help -keep that in mind.  The problem as it stands is that improved behaviors are massive game play changers that enable detailed instructions and tasks for NPCs.  And while these could certainly be implemented for many tasks there has to be some fundamental change in the way inquisitions tracks NPCs.  The current system is far from flawless, hence NPC quest conflicts.

Follow-up question. If I were to be a warrior-like rogue, which specialization should i chose? Tempest i assume? Assassins are dps based, so I assume they're out. Artificers, maybe. Help?

Tempest with Guard on Hit is the closest you're going to get, either way you won't be sturdy enough for tanking.

From the way it sounds like you're wanting to play, you'd be better off playing a warrior.
