I know thermal clip capacity is the bomb for the Prothean Particle rifle, but i have'nt been able to google a answer for this question.

In single player, you got Glyph's intel station to upgrade and one of them sounds like this:

• Ammo Capacity +5% - Use the kit to increase your weapons' thermal clip capacity.
• Weapon Damage +5% - Use the kit to increase weapon damage.

Does the first choice increase the weapons clip beyond 100= i can hold down trigger longer before it over heats, or does it mean higher number of spare clips?

AFAIK only the spare ammo capacity is increased.

But I currently don't have a right save to check if this is true.

 

If no one else clarifies, you should just check for yourself.

From my experience, the additional ammo upgrade from ammo powers does not effect the clip size of the Lancer, so I am pretty sure it doesn't effect the clip size of the PPP. Therefore, I am pretty sure this upgrade does not effect the clip size of cool down weapons.

I am 95% positive that the Ammo Capacity upgrades from Intel are for spare thermal clips (spare ammo) and not for increasing the capacity of the current clip.

 

The Ammo Capacity armor pieces increase spare ammo, so it should work on the same principal.
