Recently I have picked up playing earlier Saints Row games, namely SR1 and SR2. So, I was playing it for a while and that is when I realized that the game is way too fast. Everything, from walking to driving. And this makes the game almost unplayable. 

 

I did some searching online and saw that it is a common problem where you are using Win7 and your CPU is higher and 3.00 Ghz. My CPU is exactly that unit. So the problem is with Win7. 

I reda that there is a powertoll for it that has to seperate files. I could download one of those files. The second one, no matter what I did, did not download.

So, I have 2 questions.

 

1- could anyone download the second file and give to me somehow in  way?

2- is there no other way to fix it?

Also, I have reached the mission when recruiting lieutenant for the saints. Everytime when I recruit the last one, game crashes to desktop. any ideas why?

Yes I have those files.

All you have to do is move them to your SR2 folder and hit install.

I did that and also fallowed the readme instructions. The speed issue is fixed now. But the game keeps crashing near the end of the three kings mission. Right after I do what the last recruitment requires of me, the game crashes and says "saints row 2 has stopped working". Regardless of the order of the ones I recruit.

I tried that troubleshooting. Ran the game on windows XP service pack 3 compatability. checked run as admin. also checked disable visual themese and disable desktop composition. did not help.

Not really, the PC version of SR2 was a really bad port as even Legit owners have had speed issues.

I have the steam copy and also found it to be a bit of a pain in the arse.
