Then I just feel so sorry for you and your limited imagination and lack of courage to work with what's given. To me, people who take the easy way out aren't real fans.

I feel sorry for anyone who distinguishes using some iteration of "real fans".

It's just a piece of entertainment and a rather average one at that. Playing through it isn't some duty or obligation.

But the problem is that it's more than a piece of entertainment. You can see it as a piece of entertainment but Bioware never saw it this way. You ignore what they wanted to do.

And if it was just that, why would people come every day when they only hate Mass Effect 3. They could only go in Mass Effect 1 or 2 forum to talk but no, they come here in order to stop discussion, in order to say that the game sucks and the ending ruined everything. Is that what "real fans" do?

Anyway, is it a duty or obligation to come here saying everyday the same thing when they ignore the story, the writing and what the developers said (quotations without context don't count)?

aye, but you know what I do when I find a piece of entertainment "rather average"? I move on to others. I don't follow forums dedicated to said piece of entertainment for multiple years just so I can slag off what I didn't like about it repeatedly without ever actually suggesting anything constructive.

It's really odd behavior. I'm not saying that one has to like everything about the game (I certainly don't), but making multiple shitposts about how much one thinks the ending sucks on a 3 year old game, for example, seems more like behavior from a butthurt fan than someone who actually thinks the work of entertainment to be average.

I'd say we say these things because we didn't ignore the story, the writing and what the developers said.  :D

I still enjoy ME warts and all. Just because I don't think they are the greatest games out there doesn't mean I can't enjoy them -- those things aren't mutually exclusive, are they? Besides, I do more than complain about the ending. I think I complain about ME3's art direction more than the ending and I always have a paragraph of positivity ready whenever any one talks about the Omega DLC or Grissom Academy.

Also, complaining is fun. I really like ME2 and it's a game I still play, and on these forums all I do is complain about it.

I've been working with imperfection since ME1.

I played the hell out of ME1 + ME2, then took a 3 year break from everything mass effect and only just recently finished ME3 after marathoning the first two games (lost my save files). I thought ME3 was fine, when I see people's complaints I totally get them but it doesn't paint own experience in any way. I still remember when the first game came out 1UP had a review of the game and panned the hell out of it because a lot of those worlds you can explore were empty and the first 3 hours are really slow and the story didn't even start getting good until Virmire. Still loved that first game though, warts and all.
