When playing the mission to recruit tali, i put in my disc 2,  play the mission then once i beat the mission and the game goes to load back to the ship, the xbox gives me the unreadable disc error message,  there is nothing visibly wrong with the disc.   and i dont know if the disc is messed up or not... can somone help me please

Try installing it to the hard drive.

how do i do that? ive never done that before, besides when i put disc two into the drive and close it, it loads like its going to start then gives me the disc read error,

Well usually you wait for the Xbox to recognize the disc, press Y to bring up its details and select Install to hard drive.

However, if its giving you a disc read error while Disc 1 works fine, you might have a faulty Disc 2. I would contact EA support and see about getting a replacement.

well since EA support is closed for the day im quite pissed off cause i cant play the game, oh well thanks for the help man

 i got it installed to the HDD and it plays fine - although i had one "disc unreadable" message on the first geth ship - and now i'm stuck in the Tali mission after we got the evidence linking her dad to the geth. tried it like 10 times (!) - always the same when the movie starts - DISC UNREADABLE.

uninstall (both then probably - it says 12,x GB ttl) and re-install? nothing wrong w/ the disc...

anybody got a better idea or the same prob there?

How do you know there is nothing wrong with the disc?

Have you tried using another 360?

If possible take  the disc back to the shop for a replacement.

exchange is not so easy - amazon... takes too long



what i did and worked alright: went to the dashboard and then deleted ME2 from the HDD of the xbox. and - voilá - it played alright over the movie where it formerly hang up!!! i may re-install to HDD and see if it keeps working alright, but then i'm nearly through anyway.



guess this points the direction HDD is not alright - maybe fragmented or who knows what. we shall see - but maybe this also helps others...

Yes looks like a HDD issue. or maybe the install was just corrupt.

If it is a HDD issue then unfortunately some games including mass effect 2 don't let you back up the saves to memory card so formatting to fix it isn't an option
