I just came on to the forums tonight to check to see if by chance anything new came to DAMP, and saw the post by Bioware about threads containg the "leaks".  Didnt see what the leaks were but lets be honest...

Bioware those posts about leaks shouldnt have been deleted. In fact they should have been sticky and plastered all over your site.  You guys need all the press and info you can get.  DAMP is a failure due to your lack of putting NO effort into making DAMP content.  You should be happy that people are trying to get everyone hyped for whatever new content may be coming to DAMP, because you need all the help you can get.

When you let something that could have been a big hit just drag along on 3 little maps, with the 3 little bosses (which the only one that ever gave a real challenge was Demon Commander till you nerfed his to wimp status like the other bosses) since the game has been released, its your own fault that people are leaving DAI left and right.

You guys didnt put any faith in DAMP from the start, and that was your own downfall. When you dont even have faith in your own product and online mutiplayer, how can you expect your own customers to have any faith in you to wanna stick around and hope something new comes at some point.  You had months to add new content.  DAI is a world full of wonderful areas and you brought nothing to DAMP except a "destruction pack" full of broken animals, and want to call it a big content update to DAMP. SMH...  how wrong you were.

These weekend events you have been doing arent enough to keep most consumers who bought you game to stay around.  Im gonna assume that whatever these "leaks" was about had to do with new DAMP content, i doubt by the time it does come out most people wont even care due to moving on to other games, which will support their online play from the very start and give the customers things to keep their attention.

You can only play the same 3 maps, with the same 3 bosses, with the same 12 classes for only so long before you just cant even stand to log into DAMP no more.  I jumped into DAMP from the start and was always the first thing i jumped into when i played DAI.  Finally over a month ago i just couldnt take it no more and moved on from DAMP, and so have many of my friends who we all played DAMP.

Your new content is going to be too little, and way way too late to save DAMP.  Mortal Kombat X will be out on the 14th. The Witcher 3 is coming out soon.  Batman is due in late June.  And the list goes on.

It pains me to know that the online play i wanted from DA since the very first came finally came to be, and yet the company didnt even have any faith in the online play to put any effort into making it good and keeping the content coming to keep the consumers hooked.

Maybe by your next DA game you will have more faith in your online play and actually fully support it from the start, unlike this current disaster.

This is my opinion, but its also the feeling so many other DA players have.

What did I miss about leaks and people being angry?

Well, people are always angry. Although chances are the NDA is what is preventing content from being discussed, assuming it has something to do with multiplayer.

Or is this just another rant thread about someone not enjoying multiplayer? Well it is a dungeon-crawl like Diablo so I guess that can only be fun for so long...

Its true though MP is bad and in truth at this point who really cares if or when new Content is released I figured the MP would tank and boy was I right.Among the myriad of other stupid choices of yours like "SWTOR,Dragon Age 2 & Mass Effect 3" this half ***** MP was a joke.

You really need to get you **** together B-Ware because your losing fans and as a die hard DA fan it pains me to say I am really close to shelving it and thank goodness The Witcher 3 is gonna be out soon.

This game won like...100 game of the year awards. Your standards must be high. Also, the multiplayer is not bad.

The DLC release schedule, and content thus far has been atrocious, and people have good reason to be pissed....so I won't argue that you shouldn't be ticked off. I personally am willing to wait for the DLC, and will play the hell out of it when it comes, but every week that goes by without a DLC dropping is a week where I'm giving heavier WTF shoulder shrugs......bleh.

BUT! I have faith that the dragons and new classes will breathe new life into the game and add a ton of hours of entertainment for most of us.

This is crappily written, but edit it, I shall not.

I love MP but I do agree they should have DLC Content for MP soon its getting boring with the same 3 maps they need more places to delve in and maybe add Darkspawn race to fight aginst like collectors on ME3's MP lol but I still play MP not as much anymore but I do usually nowa days on Challange weekends lookin at those lovely rando boxes with a small chance of a glimmer of hope on a good weap lol.   Bring on the new Content soon plz lol

I have beat DAI three times and enjoyed it and dont get me wrong it destroyed DA2 granted anything could but dont get me wrong I don't really have high standards not really hell I played the Risen franchise and loved them but heres the thing when B-Ware said they were looking at Skyrim as an inspiration I had mixed feelings see on one hand I love the Elder Scrolls games and DAI took the large maps and exploration but didnt have actual story connections for those areas it was just theres a place go look.

See the SWTOR was appealing but as a console gamer I was SOL on that one and Dragon Age 2 I wont even go into that it makes my head hurt suffice to say a Dragon Age Game without choice you know actual choice is not a Dragon Age Game.
Then theres ME3 my problems with that game were many and not the Endings there was the poorly written story now dont get me wrong I am not one of those people that scream Drew K everytime I complain but I read the original leaked Script and honestly I would have preferred it to the one we got oh and in truth I enjoyed MEMP in fact it was the only part I did like.

DAIs Content so far has been less than Stellar and I think it could turn it around with some higher quality Dlcs all around for the SP they need to make Dlc that rivals the following in terms of quality.
1.Citadel
2.The Lair of The Shadow Broker
3.Legacy
4.Witch Hunt

MP needs more modes maybe a tower defense mode anything besides the same thing is an improvement in my opinion.

see this just goes to show that you cant even have a simple convo without someone feeling their high horse and trying to bust down anything you say.

My post was spoken in truth and had nothing to do with crying.  it was simply put into words what most feel DAMP has been.  Yet here comes the "white knights" who swear Bioware can do no wrong and that any thing and any one that goes against Bioware is nothing but a cry baby.  just goes to show how sad the gaming community has become where you cant even have a simple thoughtful convo without the trolls coming to crush anything you say.

thanks for proving my point WangtorioJackson. you are the perfect example of everything that is wrong with the community.

if you took the time to read it maybe then you could have had a good convo instead of the childish response you did.  learn to reconize thoughtful posts over those that are just "whaaaaa" like you put it.

We were aware of "Damn Really Ah God Ohman Nodude Seriously? Seriously?! Like Ahman Yudothisbw Ergh Rage" before the Beta started(IRC), thanks to datamining and Gamestop. Hell, Origin bugged out and listed a "DA PLACEHOLDER DLC" some days ago. Normally I'd say that although breaking NDAs is bad, you should also talk about your partners not leaking stuff. (aint that right Gamestop?)

But BW, people leave DAMP left n'right. Just look at the forum, there is almost as much stuff going on as in the ME3 forum, and those folks are hyping for game that they don't know the title of, don't know the PC' setting, etc ...

Quite frankly, those "leaks" gave the forum a push in the right direction. So, why not continue, just with the difference that it comes from BW? Blurred out screens, teaser screens, more teaser tweets, maybe ARGs, etc.

I just came on to the forums tonight to check to see if by chance anything new came to DAMP, and saw the post by Bioware about threads containg the "leaks".  Didnt see what the leaks were but lets be honest...

*snip*

My initial reaction was supportive of the "itl;dr: waaaaahhhhhhh" point of view, but lets respond civilly:

Since the patch 5 and 6 beta program, beta to release has been about three weeks. I can understand why BioWare would not want their stuff leaked 2-3 weeks before launch. NDAs are for a purpose and leaks undermine the useful beta process.

Is DAMP a failure? Have BioWare put in no effort, of course not, that is whining hyperbole.

More hyperbole is to talk of '3 little maps', all of which, including the Destruction variants, are much more expansive than the MEMP maps, even though granted there are less of them by comparison.

It is certainly true that the key glitch did not help one little bit, that was a significant and damaging problem which split the community and damaged play.

I've been enjoying the weekend events, some are certainly more complex than others, the Druffalo challenge was a particular highlight and it is very nice that most challenges are supported with a Twitch stream to kick them off.

There have been plenty of games released since November, players will always move on to other games. The trick with the release schedule is to deliver new content which brings people back. MEMP would often surprise me with new arriving players and returning players. Will people go and play the Witcher and other games? Sure they will (I will), but with decent new stuff, they will be back when they are ready. Players are not sheep, they will not all be playing the Witcher en masse. They will not all be playing those other games you mentioned (which I won't be).

The DAMP release schedule vs. MEMP has been slower. DAMP maps are bigger and there are the banter requirements to think about, MEMP didn't require another 300 lines of dialogue in their DLCs. Given the choice, the main game had some bugs to deal with, so I'm not upset to have seen those prioritised, as well the release of SP DLC, even if not on all platforms yet.

BioWare not having faith?

Not putting in any effort?

DAMP a disaster?

Sorry, we're back to the whining hyperbole again. Your post contained some good underlying points, but the overall message was spoiled by being needlessly extreme.

Three words: Non-Disclosure Agreement.

I have to agree here.  When you are given and opportunity and let into something like that then you need to respect their wishes.  It's not your content, you didn't make it, and its not yours to share.  It's yours to help test and prepare for when the dev team wants to release it.  It very bad to betray that trust and can....probably will make things worse and even MORE secretive in the future.  It puts a bad light on all of the community.

I find it extremely annoying that gaming these days is treated like top secret government projects over every little thing, but you have to respect that and while I would like to see the content I respect that.

Most people know I am not the biggest fan of this game for quite a few reasons, and while I am not, nor do I want to be in any "beta" You need to do the right thing and respect your word/agreements.  I hope we can move forward and MORE testing and things can be done.  We were "beta testers" when DAMP was released IMO.  I don't know if it was specific to my console, but I believe it was that the RTC would not even die most of the time when you played and Red Templar runs were almost always a bust.  I figure I would have seen more posts about it if the issue was on all platforms, but it was absolutely rage inducing and extremely common.

I'm not going to troll you or anything.  I just have a few questions if you would answer them.  If you don't want to then I understand as its none of my business.

Do you agree that the initial content in DAMP was extremely low and got old fast as well as the time period in which new content is coming that most people will not even care to come back?

Do you feel this DAMP is as important to the dev as ME and the bugs are exusable and its ok to charge fans full price for games in that condition?

Will you be pre ordering and paying full price for future Bioware titles?

This game won like...100 game of the year awards. Your standards must be high.

I consider those awards solid evidence that the reviewers were high.  As balls.  I can't think of the last game that got this many industry awards with user scores under 6 on Metacritic.  The MP and SP experiences have caused me to really lose faith, though for different reasons; I'm no longer an always-preorder Bioware customer.  This from someone who's instagrabbed every game since KotOR.
