I previously had six characters saved, and when I went to create a new character it said I could not do so due to a save limitation. So, to free up space, I deleted one character so I could create a new one. When i went to create a new game I was again presented with the same message, "Dragon Age Inquisition supports 25 saves across all characters. You have reached the maximum number of saves. Please delete 1 save and try again". I have done so, so what gives?

 

Why even have this limit when previous games did not?

This is more than just a bit of a bother, I agree. The save system is an aspect I could see very much to be improved upon when it comes to this installment and for consoles on the other installments.

 

What gives I believe is that you need to delete more than one save within a character because to start a new character, you need a certain amount of saves to be avaliable and not just one.

All DA games have had save limitations on consoles (games in general have save limitations on consoles). Autosaves and milestones also count towards the save cap.

Im aware of that, but previously, in Origins and DA2, I could have at least eight characters.

Ah, then this might belong in the Feedback section instead but I think there is already a thread about it, though I'm not sure if it is still continued.

The limitation system was different, previous games allowed 10 characters with 32 saves per character. In DAI, it is just a lump amount of saves you get: 25 saves for PS, 50 saves for Xbox and 250 saves for PC.

I'm on my 3rd play through on the PS4 and I haven't run into this issue.
