Would the digital download version of the PS3 really be that different from the physical one?  I had almost zero problems with it, two crashes, and the only time characters would play hide and seek (IE not be on the screen but be speaking, or not be on the screen but suddenly pop in) only occured in the intro.  And a few cases of texture pop in...which got really annoying from time to time.  But certainly nothing 'unplayable'.

There's lots of things that can be different from digital versions. While auto-saving my system has to read and write (loading the world) to and from the hard drive at the same time. I'm just guessing I have no idea. Also I'm glad your disc version ran fine for you. Maybe some of it has to do with play style. I try to talk to everyone and explore everywhere, maybe if I just flew through the game I'd have less problems.

I have restarted maybe 15 times. I have also reinstalled a few times played with the patch and without. I have the same problem everytime.

That's possible but my first PT was still 85 hours.

I'm on XBone and while it's not unplayable it's still full of bugs - reproducable ones. Constant sound problems (no sound, sounds 3-4 seconds too late) and game crashes.

Using the respecc necklace and then directly switching to the ability trees causes a crash every single time. You have to back out of the inventory after using the necklace, wait till the message "points resetted" occurs and then you can spend your points. Annoying as hell because I don't pay attention every time and encountered numerous crashes.

I could probably afford a new system but I'm not rich. I would probably be less likely to risk the health of my new system on a game that crashes all the time.

I had the constant freeze problem with Skyrim on the PS3 - absolutely could not play it - patch after patch after patch. I landed up buying it for my PC. but never finished the game - it just seemed so soulless , and big....

Thanksfully I have had absolutely no bugs, no problems at all with DA:I on my PS4...

Then DA:I should have never been sold on PS3 or 360. The game is the problem my console runs the other 100 or so games I own just fine.

I'm fairly certain the other 100 or so games you own aren't cross-gen.

Bioware is going to be given s*** no matter what they do.

If they DO release the game cross-gen? "Waaah it doesn't work as good on my older console with outdated hardware!"

If they DON'T release the game cross-gen? "Waaaah you're ignoring all of us who don't have newer consoles!"

And if you were playing from a DVD it would be reading from the DVD and writing to the HD? I don't really see why it would need to read data that, by definition, can't change, and write that data as part of the save.

I'm also a bit surprised at how fragile consoles are. You have to work at it to blow up a PC.

I believe you should be posting this issue here: http://answers.ea.co...p/DAInquisition

I don't believe anyone will address technical issues posted on the official BW forums.

Okay. Enjoy having your threads moved or deleted then because you "post where ever you want".

Fortunately, this thread (as dumb as it sounds) is in the right spot.

Well, join the club brother. We have a HUGE thread. Join us. We've been screaming our ears out about PS3 and XBOX360 horrible issues since launch. Check the thread link on my sig, also, if you agree, there's a petition you can sign for it as well.

How?

By getting off thier arse and doing something about the problems they have created by selling a broken product.

OP, I stress again that you should talk to the folks in the thread that Octarin mentioned.

Ask the people in there if they are experiencing some or most of the same problems that you are.  If others have the same issues you do, then it's something the developers might be able to replicate in testing.  If they can replicate it, it's easier to fix.  The devs can't fix bugs that they can't replicate for testing, pure and simple.  This might get fixed if they can recreate some of those game breaking issues.   However, without talking to a thread of previous gen players, it's going to be really hard to tell what is on your end, or if it's the game.  It could be both.

Please, try to talk to the folks in that thread and give it a day or two for responses.   At this point, it's not going to harm anything, and sure as hell beats being angry.   If I didn't give a crap, I'd give a flippant answer or just flame you and be done with it.

I'm on a PC and I only just started to have these issues recently myself, but before that the game was running smoothly. Just a few days ago my game froze badly and when it loaded my Inquisitor fell through a gaping hole that was once Solas' room.

You can mash the caps key all you want.

It's okay Nat, you can tell him the truth.

See, if you mash your caps key and then also post a tirade of insults filled with a lot of reddit gifs, Bioware will send you the secret free copy of the game that also works. It's like the Konami code, only for real life.

Thanks Exile, I needed the chuckle.  Didn't sleep worth a damn.

Edit: I noticed the mods are awake with their caffeine going today.  I envy them.

It must be the game's fault that you're playing a next-gen game on old-gen hardware.

Well, it is Bio's fault that they sold it to him.

I still don't understand why the game runs on some PS3s but not others.

The same reason why Skyrim can run perfectly for me while it's an unplayable, bug-laden mess for others.

And by that, I mean that there is no easily discernible reason. He could have a defective disk or his PS3 could be defective. Or just old-fashioned bad luck.

Its already been said that because Bioware decided to sell it on old generation hardware they have an obligation to ensure the product works on that hardware. He probably should just get a refund but Biowares obligation still exists and form all the feedback they have done SFA about it.
