Well you know that blue sky?

If one removes all that blue light which lights up our atmosphere, you get mostly red light left, from the sun.

That's what you see at sundown, for instance. During the lunar eclipse, the moon is illuminated entirely by such red light, passing through Earth's atmosphere.

Because it's made of green cheese, which absorbs all the green light.
