What is the amount of health/armour bars that you can leave to DOT to finish off? I guess it depends on the enemy + DOT combo, but lets say for the most common situations. Like troppers/captains/brute + incinerate/inferno grenade/flamer, troppers/captains + poison strike, etc.

Darnit, you replied to my post before I could delete it...
(Deleted because Dark Channel is a ridiculously OP example, adding nothing to the conversation, and I really ought to go back to the "recent high/low points" thread and stay there).

Well, it obviously depends on so many factors that a unique answer can't be provided, unless you narrow down the situation.
If you're refering to my comment in the FQE thread, well. Using the build I provided, against say, a gold marauder that you cryo blasted and then shot with the claymore, you can leave him to die if he has 3-4 bars of health. Against a ravager that you have shot and then incinerate, 2 bars of armor are going down, maybe even 3.
However, even then, it's not that easy to say, because there might be a lot of reasons why you didn't kill the enemy outright: your attack might not be strong enough to kill it, or you might not have hit with all the pellets, or again they might have spawn DR still on. The outcome is different in all those cases, so it's really not easy to tell. It's just something you instinctively know any time it happens, I guess.

Dark channel is best used from a huntress cloaked.... Only then is it truely OP as a banshee hit by it will die very quickly (with a detonation and then the destruction....

My rule of thumb is two bars of health or one bar of armor.
I'm sure this is overly conservative, but I don't want to take any chances and get shot in the back by a Marauder (Shields) or a Ravager that I left for dead.
Also the Huntress' TacCloak'd Dark Channel is ridiculously powerful. There is an old IAMxSHADRACH video of him taking down a Platinum Banshee in one cast. (I think Power Amp and other +power mods were involved.)

Huntress is downright hilarious. Everything else in DoT department looks like joke compared to that. Unless I'm missing something out, of course...
Class literally plays itself.

EXACTLY
The main... and probably only downside is that it only hits one enemy at a time and it SEEMS like it does more damage to armor than health....
THAT SAID.... 4 huntresses would be horrifying....

Accordingly to Kalence, it deals 1.5 times more damage to armor and 2 times more damage to barriers before "damage vs shields and armor" evo, and it sure looks this way in game too. Not bad because it's usually easy to finish health off since it's mostly mooks anyways IIRC.

My best comparison on that is banshees and phantoms.... It seems like banshees go down as fast as phantoms after barriers

I'm pretty sure you can get higher DOT going with Reave-spam Justicar. You just can't "fire and forget" like you can with Dark Channel though.

Compared to something like Reegar cheesing or other forms of glitched incendiary stacking it really isn't that powerful, and the Huntress is a glass cannon anyway.

About the Dark Channel comment...I LOVE Cloaking then hitting a Banshee with it...then just walking away like a BOSS....They deserve of for all the early BS we had to put with from them when this came out.

Easy to check. That said, I'm pretty sure this is the case in situations where you can work in an AoE factor of Reave.

The Justicar can get at least 550 DPS against Armor and at least 735 DPS against Barriers with a single Reave stack (without Bubble debuff).
With the Huntress, I can't see how you could get more than 1019 DPS against Armor or 1358 DPS against Barriers, even with the Warp debuff.
So basically, the Huntress's Dark Channel does the equivalent damage of 2 continuous Reave Stacks, which is pretty easy to keep going, even if you take Radius at Rank 4 (which you should). In fact, even if you take Radius, you can still have 3 Reave stacks going at all times. If you would take Duration, you can have 4 going almost constantly.
Not taking Radius is not the best way to play, but it's worth noting that if you take Duration at R4 of Reave, you can keep a pretty constant 2200 armor DPS going with Reave, which helps Boss enemies go down a lot quicker (especially when you're getting the Warp Ammo damage bonus too).
