Should I keep playing this character even though their face looks dumb?
Should I keep playing this character even though their voice is bugging me?
Should I play a My Way Zealot or a Meh Machine?

Should I bargain with the demon to be a blood mage?

Which rune would work better with which weapon?

Does this armor match the color of my eyes?

The choices, which influence the story in the games, like e.g. the dark ritual, aren't really difficult, because you can create a char for every outcome. With one char you can do the dark ritual, with the next one you refuse.

1 Do I recruit Leliana even though I am playing a mage and I don't have any rogues yet? (no)

2 My favorite Hawke or Alistair? (I abandoned the game and restarted with a Hawke I didn't like.)

3 Cole: spirit or human? (human - Cole chose to be a part of the mortal world before he even met the Inquisitor. He stands a better chance of surviving it if he can adapt and change with it.)

DA1:

1. Having to let an unhardened Alistair go when he left my elven mage to be king.

2. Choosing Ferelden's new ruler carefully, because it's life or death for Loghain.

3. Letting the Architect live or not.

DA2:

1. Anders: Does he live or does he die, regardless of romantic attachment?

2. Do I romance Anders or Fenris?

3. Mage or Rogue? AKA Carver or Bethany? Wishing I could be mage and have Bethany both.

DA3

1. Elf or Human? (It'll be female/mage regardless)

2. Romancing Solas.

3. Choosing Orlais' new ruler is tied with choosing between mages and templars because Solas.

From these choices, it usually ends up being what's most personal, such as the romance and what happens with it. In my very first DA Origins play-through, I didn't have internet, so I went through the game blindly and didn't know about hardening Alistair. When he left my elven mage to become king because he was afraid of what people would think, that was the most heartbreaking thing I have ever experienced in any game, book, or movie in my life.

Apparently I have very little trouble with the choices that plague most people.  Mine were:

1.  Do I let Blackwall be executed?  (eventually decided no)

2.  Do I let the Arishok take Isabella?  (couldn't really decide, eventually did both)

3.  Mages or Templars (in Inquisition).  Eventually went with Mages.  Felt like a huge ass every time I killed a Red Templar for the rest of the game.  Still can't bring myself to do the Templar side, though.  I like the time travel section too much.

II - Who do I want to survive (Bethany or Carver)? (If there had been a option to have both of them as Rogue and Leandra to die - I would have chosen that in a heartbeat)

Inquisition - Hawke or Alistair to be left in the Fade - this is hard because I love them both but my choices get a little easier if Alistair is in a romance...

Mass Effect - Ashley or Kaidan to be left behind on Vimire. It gets harder each time I play the game because I love them both.

(Origins - sometimes if I want to kill Isolde or not but Alistair looking at me with puppy dog eyes always convinces me to go the 'nice' route)

Choices that are easy?

Origins - Dark Ritual is only if I'm romancing Morrigan or Alistair. Other than than - Morrigan leaves the party because I said no (though I wish my Female Dalish Elf playthrough imports would incorporate hers and Morrigan's friendship properly).

Killing Loghain - Alistair is the one who duels with him and takes that choice out of my hand.

II - Not to Recruit Fenris (Buh bye)

Inquisition - Well of Sorrow - My Inquisitor takes it every time because, sorry Morrigan, just because my Warden trusted you (Most of them) doesn't mean the Inquisitor does.

Mages - Conscripting them. I tried allying with them the first time round but I wasn't happy. Conscripting them pisses Fiona off so I am quite happy with that. (I ally with the Templars when I go that route though)

Grey Wardens - allying with them. Vivieanne's comment about how it would have been better to throw rocks at demons instead of those fools was fanstastic and it's worth it to see Solas' head shake.

DR or no DR.
Save Amaranthine or Vigil's Keep. Though, I admit that if the rest of my companions were not at the keep, it would have been easier.

The rest of the game's decision making were easy and clear, and I enjoyed making them very much.

For me, they were:

1. The Landsmeet - It's really a culmination of other major choices, and it should factor in forever.

2. Dark Ritual - It's family, a romance twister, a test of trust, survival and mystery, all in one. (Warden better reappear to capitalize. ><)

3. The Well of Sorrows - In some ways, Dark Ritual 2.0. Certainly one of the best moments in DA:I. (Quizzy better reappear to capitalize. ><)

:)

1.) To kiss Fen'Harel or not to kiss Fen'Harel? DAMMIT! Here I go again! :x

ok, in more seriousness...

2.) The Well of Sorrows (I have two different mains because of this decision.)

3.)Bhelen or Harrowmont

4.) Not wanting to throw Morrigan off a cliff after she tells me she must sleep with Alistair to save the both of us. (Dark Ritual)

5.) To banish the Grey Wardens, or not. Cole disapproving of not banishing them makes it difficult for me. >.>

There is one hard choice in a good way: whether to kill Anders or not. I generally play DA2 as pro-mage and support Anders's goals, but then he betrays my trust and uses me to kill the only sane person in Kirkwall (as well as numerous bystanders) in order to start a war. It's a good choice, because I can reasonably expect the consequences of both options, but I still have a hard time choosing between them.

Then there are several bad choices:

1) The Dark Ritual. The consequences are just too arbitrary. Bioware could decide that Hobbits are going to take over Thedas, make it a pipe-weed plantation, and enslave everyone, but if you do the DR, the reborn old god comes with an army of Ewoks and saves the day. There's potential for a hard choice, but because there's no way to make it an informed one, it really boils down on whether I trust Morrigan's intentions. Because Morrigan is usually a good friend of the Warden (and because I don't want to be enslaved by Hobbits), I choose to trust Morrigan.

2) Bhelen vs. Harrowmont. The dwarf noble has an interesting choice to make, the dwarf commoner supports Bhelen, and the rest have to choose between an incompetent fool and Joseph Stalin. I wish there would be a third option, where the Warden decides not to get involved in dwarven politics, doesn't get any allies from Orzammar, and suffers greater losses in the war.

3) The Architect. The consequences are again too arbitrary, and the options feel artificially restricted. Instead of the Architect telling the Warden to do as he says or die, the Warden should be able to take the initiative and negotiate an alliance on equal terms. Had there been an option, where the Warden stays in touch with the Architect afterwards, I would have chosen it.

4) Loghain. There's so much potential in the situation, but in the end you're only choosing between Alistair and Loghain. You either remain friends with Alistair, or get a new companion who whines constantly, but otherwise nothing really changes. Sparing Loghain should have real political or military consequences in the game, and there should be an option, where Alistair grudgingly accepts allying with Loghain and remains in the group.
