Skyhold…It is a good start. You’re looking good, but you could be better.  If I had my way this is what I would add to finish my little home improvement project.

1.     Puddles in the courtyard.  Why can’t I have puddle free courtyards?  How many stone quarries’ do I need to keep my feet dry?

2.     The hole in the wall leading to the war table.    Can I turn that into a window or something?  I might not be killed by an Old-God but I can catch a cold.

3.     My bedroom.  What is it good for? (keep it clean).  I can’t sit, sleep, or add to the furnishings. Why would I add, I can’t use what I have.  I can’t even invite anyone to come up and take a seat and have a little chat.

4.     I have a perfectly good prison and half dozen prisoners, yet no one is every there to talk with.  It would be nice to have a little one-on-one time with the soon to be executed.."So do you belive in an afterlife?  Thoughts?"

5.     Out buildings, statues, fountains, gardens.  What, nothing can be added or changed or moved?  I talked the Mages / Templers into joining but can’t get craftsmen to add to the existing structure. Can we plant flowerbeds that extends beyond a potted herbs.  Can I fix that well?  can we have a water feature?

6.     Card tables that cards are used one.  It would be nice to paly a game on a gaming table.

7.     I don’t know who did the Inquisition banner but I am guessing it was Cassandra.  Something a little more colorful would be nice.  Something that says “We’re fun.  Join us.”  Not “Eat your gruel and like it.  We disapprove of color and fun here.”

8.     I have a dinning hall / dace floor that I don’t use and can’t find unless I stumble on them while looking for lost books.  It would be nice to use them.  It would be nice to dance, although most heroes that I know have dysfunctional dancing capabilities.

Anyone else have anything to add to the list?

If this game was part of the Sims, you'd have it, but though some of those ideas are nice, they don't do anything for the actual game. I do feel that by the end of the game, Skyhold should be free of dead bodies and holes in the wall, but it never seems to reach its completeness. Like Fenris' mansion. Lol I like how you can make a tower for either the Templars or Mages, and either an infirmary or battling arena for the sick or soldiers. The garden option was not that great. Very pointless in my opinion. Half the time all the furnishings in my game vanish though, so why bother? Lol

I'm going to always be campaigning for a much better infirmary. The one they have now, after it's been upgraded even,  is shameful.

As far as the garden goes, it could be more bountiful by a lot, but still, the first thing I do when I get back to Skyhold is run to the garden and harvest my six (SIX!!! ha ha) pots of whatever I'm growing. Then I head to the research table. Those six pots are part of my "never to be veered from" routine.

One more for your list: Clear the cobwebs out of the library in the basement. I want to read those books, darnit! Or at least be able to reach them.

Well, to be fair, the state of medicine in the world of Thedas is appalling. They're only just reaching the stage where they think leeches are a good medical technique. For a medieval society, sure, that's pretty advanced thinking, but that's about... what, 13/14 hundreds in our calendar? They tend to rely on basic bandages and healing spells for the most part, so beds would probably be all they'd consider needed for an infirmary.

And yeah, the garden could be seriously be more. That's not even really a garden, more like a broken up planter.

^ Lucky for us, the Inquisitor has better skills in dancing than poor Shep.

Anyway, I like those ideas. I was little disappointed that Skyhold had so little upgrades and there was nothing important with them. I remember our crossroad Keep from Neverwinter Nights 2, it was well done and our upgrades were VERY important for the siege that we had to face almost at the end of the game. Same with all upgrades for our troops. We've had something similar in DA: Awakening, but a very poor version. Skyhold was somehow better, but one big minus is that those upgrades were truly for nothing. Just cosmetic stuff.

I would like the pick the armor style of the inquisition soldiers. I get that they picked that open helmet so they could appear emotional and show off some diversity, but man, they look like a frigging backwater militia. Now the stuff Loghain's troops wore at the battle of Ostagar, that looked more Inquisition like!

Please add restrooms. It bothers me there isn't a one in the castle.

The circle towers in Origins had bathtubs at least!

I would never remove the puddles. In his freetime my Inky goes puddle jumping. But that glaring hole in Cullen's roof does need to be fixed.

I can't believe they let us see the soldiers faces when they also gave a lot of them the SAME face.

Oooh yes, long drops all over the walls! Plus chamber pots. Inky's tired of peeing down the balcony. Hawke had a chamber pot!

You guys do realize that the Inquisitor does have a chamber pot. The room to the left of the bed has the chamber pot in the corner in the otherwise bare room. Its the one to the left of the bed when your looking at it.

But i agree with everyone on this thread. I would love to have the Inquisitor's personal chamber to be used like in ME. That's and at least some interaction with my inner circle after the endgame mission. Something more then a 'we'll talk later' sentence everyone gives you regardless of your standing with them.

I only see a basket and a tiny wooden bucket. Seems ...suboptimal.

There's a lute in the bedroom...Why can't I play it???

But srsly all of those holes in Skyhold need to go. I did not amass a billion resources/power/requisitions/etc so that my mighty fortress can look like a block of Swiss cheese.

I think we should all just leave the Swiss Cheese out of this. It has enough to contend with already.....

I'd settle for just plugging up the holes in the roof and walls.
