If only I could play Jaws of Hakkon.... *sigh*  My PS4 has the sads.

I was level 24 at the end of all six of my play throughs.  Regardless of difficulty (and I've won it on all of them).  I'm sure I'll be level 24 at the end of this one as well. My nightmare KE mage Caitlyn was what I consider canon, but I might ease into JoH once I get it with one of my other inquisitors.  Maybe revisit my DW rogue Ava.

Yeah it seems that Lv 23-25 is the general ending for most players that don't grind a lot past it, but still 'do all content'. I've read that Lv 27 is the max, which is a strange number that I kinda hope that DLC+patching increases to something more orderly like Lv 30 (or Lv 35 or 40), heh.

Wasn't the level cap for Origins 36 after all DLC?

I think 25, not 26. 35 in Awakening. So it was 'orderly'.

Hm, for some reason I keep thinking it was 36.

I usually do the Wardens first and then Wicked Eyes Wicked hearts because that dancing scene awwww yisss.

Although I admit on my first playthrough I did it simply because I had a suspicion who this friend of Varric was and was dying to know if Bioware took that dive into the deep. 0 roleplay reasons there lol

What order should you do the quests in after you get to Skyhold and have this whole list of options?  When should you go to the Winter Palace?  Do Adamant?  I chose to go to Emprise du Lion first and got thru everything except what's on the other side of the bridge.  But I have since gotten the impression that was NOT supposed to be first.

Uhhhhuuuugh....*scratches head*. This seems to honestly vary all of the time.

Like for instance I would either go finish zones like the Mire, Storm Coast, or Hinderlands which I left unfinished or start new zones like Western Approach, Crestwood, Exalted Plains or the Meadows. At some point I am bound to return to Skyhold and get one of my allies saying "hey can you do my INNER CIRCLE MISSION for me?" so i wind up doing that which becomes those. I always hit my WAR TABLE and at times i may unlock a thing or two here and there. Before I know it from all the junk I just said level 10-12ish becomes level 15ish and I still haven't done the one warden base mission or WICKED MINDS, WICKED HEARTS. I mean seriously there is THAT MUCH to do immediately after you first reach Skyhold.

Yeah Lv 10-15 is incredibly easy after you get Skyhold. Lv 15-20 not so much but still not tough. Its only Lv 20-25 that can be difficult to get to, but since the main story mostly caps off at Lv 20-22ish, that makes sense. Its a period for DLC and completionism, not easy access.

I tend to do things one way... once I find a pattern, I stick to it. So I do this pattern, post skyhold.

Open up all the areas, and farm schematics in Emprise Du Lion, because I like doing that. Then I run to the merchant in Hissing Wastes, and buy the stuff I want from the dog (with spiders trying to eat my face). THEN... I do Crestwood > Western Approach > Adamant > Exalted Plains > Emerald Graves > Wicked Eyes, Wicked Hearts > Emprise Du Lion > Temple of Mythal > Hissing Wastes > Blow up Corphyeus.

That works for me, and... I don't get all... worked up... over the lack of structure. Games like Skyrim drive me crazy because I tend to run around in circles like a chicken with its head cut off. Even though I like Skyrim just fine!

As a random aside.. have you ever Tac-cammed over that dog, Betyar?  He's a beast.  Level 30 Elite boss! So don't try to steal from him.

Well to me level 20-25 is ideal for taking on the High Dragons because the Storm coast, the final two in DU Lion, Hissing wastes ones may be roughly 15-20ish but again these are "high dragons" so being a little above or a little bellow could still get you game over because I feel the High dragons just don't mess around. Especially the ones with the "armor" ability.

The only problem with doing open world areas like Emprise Du Lion without touching the main mission is that you will have dozens of war table missions that are like 20 hours long and you'll have nothing to do between them.

Once can certainly try to complete all other content and get to as high a level as possible before tacking most/all dragons. It just may not be ideal since now what are you going to use the rewards for? :P

Indeed the Storm Coast + EDL and such 1/3-1/2 of the dragons are the better ones to wait for higher levels to get to.
