Just curious. When I hit pause, all I see is game options and exit? Am Imissing something here?

I can't really help since I'm PS4, but have you tried the Select button (as opposed to the Start button)? Took me FOREVER to find it on PS4 and it ended up being the darn touchpad in the center, so it may be in a "weird" place on PS3?

Middle left, labelled "Select."
That will bring up a menu of the players in the game. Select players with the thumbstick or D-pad, and then press L1 to mute them, or R1 to put a kick vote on them.
