Hi All,

New to DAI and I'm getting a bit annoyed. Is there anyway to determine what crafted armor will have Arms/Legs Slots, BEFORE I CRAFT?

I'm looking through my schematics and I can't tell (in-game) which of these armors will have the slots available, I can only find the answer after I have created the piece which is really annoying.

Has anyone else noticed this or am I doing something wrong?

I believe only the region/race/faction armors don't have arm/legs slots.
Example: Grey Warden, Free Marches, Orlesian Armor, Keeper Robes, etc.

Everything else that's Armor/Coat/Mail should have the slots.

EDIT: Check here: http://dragonage3.wi....com/Schematics

Thanks, I still think there should be a way to determine which armor will have the slots during crafting.,, Maybe they'll patch it some day thanks again.

One can also determine it by material quantity required at the crating screen. If a schematic's defense/utility slots call for eight materials apiece, while others of the same tier use four, you can assume that's compensation for not having separate arms or legs.

I can't quite figure out which upgrade will match with a specific weapon or armor.

Dual blade grip vs. Single blade grip? Huh? They're both daggers. Can't I just tie the same bit of leather on the handle? I've got string.

Now which of these upgrades is for a one-handed maul? Or a two handed axe? Couldn't I use the same pommel on both?

And why does a staff have a blade? Is that like a knife on the end of it? Why won't my mages stab things with it?

Evidently I'm just too stupid to get it.

So the best way I've found to craft is:
1. SAVE
2. Create something I think I want
3. Create arms / legs / grip / pommel
4. Try to Socket the upgrade and fail miserably
5. Reload save
6. goto step 2

If you look at the preview of the schematics, it is generally possible as well to tell if they have some sort of arm or leg armor.  If they do, then you generally won't be able to upgrade.  An example is the dragon hunter armor.  Has clear arm and leg armor, but the battle mage armor has little connections for the arm armor upgrades that just kinda stick out.  If the armor is just a chest piece, it should have upgrades.  But they should make it explicit.  There is too much guesswork in the process, or you have to look up everything.
