In my opinion, you can't compare these types of complaints to the more valid, widespread complaints. There are too few people who are shallow and selfish enough to complain about something as insignificant as a companion's face. Most of DAI's consumers dislike the fugly pajamas, the horrendous male elf anatomy and posture, the crappy hair/eyebrows/facial hair, and the overall lackluster presentation of the game. That majority far, far outweighs the opinions of a few whiny children who feel personally slighted when an NPC doesn't meet their standards.

The people who complain about a companion's appearance, demanding change, are just as bad as the selfish, sexist women who refuse to play as a gross man just to romance Dorian, or anyone who demands a character's sexuality revolve around them, in fat. ("How dare Bioware not make Dorian bisexual! Don't they know the world revolves around me and everyone in existence is obligated to find me attractive!" "Okay, Dorian's gay, but what if! What if... my femquisitor is the one woman he feels attraction to as the exception!" "Aveline's too masculine!" "Isabela the Rivaini should be white!") If you want to decimate a character that badly, turn to a godawful, lore-breaking mod.

Funny, you should mention.

OP won't roll a female to romance Sera because if he were to try he would "feel like he's kidding himself."

So Cass is unattractive to you because math?
Also, I need more help on what a straight female should want in a relationship.

As if I didn't have enough to sigh profoundly about.

On a somewhat related note (I'll likely get hate for this, so I apologize in advance), is anyone else a little annoyed that the first Dragon Age lesbian romance is Sera? "Let's take a personified bathroom joke with bad hair and make her a lesbian! It's not remotely stereotypical and the ladies will go crazy for her!" Not to mention the consistently promiscuous bisexuals--there's at least one in each installment. :^/

Oh I thought it was cause she "looks old".

Anyhow, he's kidding himself regardless of what he plays as. ;)

I've seen it on tumblr, I'm just sayin'. But that site is a utopia of man-hating (amongst other things), so it shouldn't be surprising.

So it takes 5 pages to answer a very simple yes or no question? Wow.

Best place to ask is probably the Nexus mods site though.

At present, it's only possible to mod/edit textures (for the most part) for DAI, and this person is whining about the models, not the textures. That would be an even sillier thing to whine about.

So the short answer is No.

Sillier maybe for you. Modding models and textures is very common in mod community.

And reading the op

I like cassy personality a lot, but can't get past the face. It's getting to the point where it's hard to play the game.  I was wondering if anyone knows any possible way of changing her face or perhaps some kind of mod that fix the face? I have not had this problem in previous bioware content.

I can't see much "whining"

He stated a fact about his opinion - he doesn't like the look of her face.

Then he asked a question.

You on the other hand, especially in your previous post where you call people childish and bad for wanting to change game character appearance ... that what I would call childish whining.

He asked. If you know the answer then tell him, if don't - just stay quiet. He never asked about your opinion about him nor about your opinion about modding.

Don't see how I was whining, but whatever, buddy. I guess you didn't see his previous threads.

Not to mention, you're just complaining about complaining about complaining. What you're saying is pointless, if what I was saying is pointless, too.

Edit: I will concede, however, that I used an unkind choice of words there, but I'm not one to mince my words for fear of causing offense. As someone who tends to casually swear like a sailor, I'm censoring myself enough as it is. I will still watch out in the future, though, use less "rude" synonyms, perhaps. Pff

That was 20 years ago to DAI...

How old is Cassandra, shes not 40? if that was 20 years ago that'd make her 10 - 12? I think shes about 20-25 in the Anime.

Still doesn't mean shes not had long hair like many pretend she hasn't, and i personally feel a long haired mod would not be offending her character it would be just showing her youth again..

But obviously people are so set in their own ways..

It's not so much the idea of longer hair that would be antithetical to Cassandra's design, but rather hair that flows freely. For someone who typically prefers to be very practical and prefers to forgo anything remotely frilly or superfluous, her traveling about in full armor and a full head of long hair just flowing down would look ridiculous. I can't imagine her not tying it up whenever she was out in the field.

Wouldn't that fit with all warriors and fighters then? because there are a lot of them in the Dragon Age franchise, and when you wear a helmet your hair is effectively hidden away, all my characters wore helmets.

Plus as its a mod it shouldn't really affect anyone else at all?

Kind of like how it'd be out of character for a practical military woman like Ashley Williams to let her hair down--oh, wait... (I still won't forgive Bioware for what they did to her in ME3 [sobs])

She's forty. Or thereabouts - she could be as young as eighteen in Dawn Of The Seeker, which would make her thirty-eight in DAI. If she was in her early twenties then, she's in her early forties now.

Mods are a different story. Mods that "beautify" the companions have been around since Origins, so it's all kind of the same thing really, much like the Sera freckle and eyeliner thing. I'd only argue that this design best fits Cassandra in the vanilla game.

I know right? I was annoyed when I saw her hair for the first time. Sure, if she's dressed up to go out or something then it's great, but I missed the hair-up-no-nonsense version we took into battle.

I don't think she's that old, more like 30 - 32..

40 year old warriors are best to give up (if they survive that long), because they become slow and they become dead, my opinion.

So... 20 years ago, when the events of Dawn of the Seeker took place, Cass was only 10 or 12?

Maker, do I feel unaccomplished.    Stupid, sexy, overachieving Cassandra.

I don't want to quote here, but to those deriding other posters for using 'science' to explain their claims:

Your statements simply show a bad understanding of what science is and what science can/wants to accomplish. There have, in fact, been numerous studies on inter-human attraction. Their results are, of course, descriptive, because they're based on simple statistics, often derived from elaborate test designs taking important parameters into account (such as cultural background). Normative statements are out of the purview of science; they belong into the realm of politics.

So if studies claim that symmetric faces, for example, are considered more attractive to a high degree of statistic significance, there's nothing hocus pocus about it. Numbers don't lie, and if your political opinion doesn't match with them, that does not invalidate the study results. Get off your high horses please.
