ok - I have always been wondering why it happens sooo often that I

seemingly found a perilous lobby and then land in an empty group as leader.

it just happened 6 times in a row to me before I stopped trying.

A smaller number of perilous players cannot be the reason for this

because this would be a crazy coincidence, right?

If it doesn't find a love lobby it will create one for you.

Often when playing in the morning I get lower difficulty lobbies only but later during the day the higher ones fill up.

Small Playerbase + Region-Lock = no lobbies.

Besides, you would do better playing Perilous with friends anyway. My advice is to get some and ignore the Quick Match feature.

That's the way the game is telling you that 72% of the player base has a terrible connection and that you are better off hosting the game.

If you can solo at least the first zone, just start it and people are likely to join during the run.

Look at it that way: Playerbase that get's smaller every day + Region lock + highest difficulty.

It's also a very short matchmaking time before a lobby is created for you....

I have my friend in USA make the lobby as it usually fills up pretty quick.

Here in Scotland/UK it's friggin empty more times than I care to count if I start the lobby.

Thanks Bioware/EA or whoever came up with this "matchmaking"

I think everyone see you coming and they all leave.... At least is what i think....

But yes as SpaceV3gan stated, the best way is to get friends, that way you get yourself:

1- People who won't kick you if you go buy potions

2- The way to return to the game if you Crash to Desktop (Best thing of DAMP)

3- You can play whatever you want and no one will bully you.

4- You can be as bad as my grandma and no one will make fun of you.

5- You know the friends you got in the list will be good Host for you region.

6- You can click your friend's quickly launch, and start the game and it will go directly into Multiplayer lobby, no need to click tittle screen, no need to click multiplayer, no need to click the Weekend Mission's "OK" Button.(Second Best thing on DAMP)

7- If someone has a full time Open mic, it will be use for the actual game, not to comment why 2x2=4

8- Promoting Characters on the Run.

9- Others!

So go ahead, you can start with me, see you around!

I have trouble finding threatening matches. I'd love to play with people not in the US (where I'm at). Chances are really good they'd have a better internet connection than me. I've played plenty of me3 mp matches with people around the world. That aint happening in damp. Bioware needs to fix this. If they do this for the next mass effect mp it'll kill the playerbase.

the region lock is terrible - i have a time consuming work, so i can play mostly only during nights - wasnt able to find even one perilous lobby tonight (EU) and it was really hard to find at least some threatening ones:-/

They just wanted the matchmaking to feel like love matchmaking a constant stream of rejection and loneliness interspersed with a-holes and shame.

The matchmaking is so bad I can't even connect to anyone in asia and I'm in Oceania.

So I'm starting to believe that you have to have less the 20ms ping or something stupidly low.

This is like game hell as Australians have some of the worst internet ever and I'm forced to play games with their terrible internet.

I'm not getting paid to manually matchmake my own games. I usually pay people to code a system that automatically does it for me.

Is because we keep quiet and do nothing but complain in the forums. they already know it thats why they don't show here.

We should go on Strike of DAMP and when only 2% of habitual playerbase connect they will do something. thy can bring whatever they want on any DLC, but until they fix the crashes, bugs, region lock and Matchmaking it will be the same thing with new clothes.

Connections regardless of difficulties in damp are abysmal. Add in the constant firestorming and it becomes Rubberband city.

Beerfish:  Okay, here we go into a lobby I go.

BioWare:  There you are good sir you are the host enjoy your game!

Beerfish:  Uh I don't want to be host, if I did I would start a lobby.

BioWare:  Ohhhh, okay, gotcha, sorry about that, let's try again.  I have just made you the host!  Is that better sir?

Beerfish:  Wait, I just told you I don;t want to be host, despite having 'good' Internet people have lag in my games thus I join theirs.

BioWare:  Ahhh!  okay that makes sense, so you do not want to be the host, you want to join a game right?

Beerfish:  Right!

BioWare:  There you go!  You are the host and now you can play our awesome game!

Beerfish:  Are you not listening?  If I wanted to host I would create a game!  And you do realize each time I have to start again I have to manually reset the map to random right?

BioWare:  Dave, we really do think you should be the host.

Beerfish:  Dave?  You just said that line in the voice of a HAL 9000.

BioWare: No I didn't!

Beerfish:  Can you please just send me to a game, in a lobby, hosted by someone else.  I don't mind waiting for a while to connect to a lobby or an existing game, you know like good ole ME3MP.

BioWare: Listen you litte shi*!  We have gone to great lengths to put this feature in that assumes you would rather host than not host.  You are going use it and you are going to like it!

Beerfish:  Okay, okay.  I'll go to threatening instead.

BioWare:  Ungrateful little schmucks.

I thought I would find a few perilous games last night. MST, 7pm, no lobbies almost the entire time I played.

As others have mentioned, you're better off playing with a group of friends. My win percentage when playing with my friends on Perilous is 100%. My win percentage when playing with PUGs on Perilous is closer to like 10%.

Sounds like the "time-out" before putting you in an empty lobby is the biggest problem here.

If they could just remove the time-out and make it search infinitely long, putting you in some kind of queue, that probably would make the matchmaking a lot better.

It's also the ping test that is causing a semi region lock meaning we never get to play with anyone who is outside of our neighbourhood.

Would be nice to know how strict the ping filtering is because I'd rather play with 0.1 second delay than be forced to solo everything because there are no players in a 10 mile radius of me.

Not like we're playing a twitch shooter.
