Hello everyone.

Been rereading the Masked Empire and without spoiling it too much for those who haven't read it, there is a mage character who uses spells of creation (and entropy) and the way it was written was just brilliant.

It also reminded me of how much fun i had with those spells in origins and even DA2.

In the next game and maybe in DLC for inquisition, id love to see these spells return as either another school of magic joining inferno storm etc, or as a specialisation called Creationist mage.

Have the tree consist of glyphs of paralysis and repulsion, with hexes and curses, and of course, a passive or skill that functions like mana bloom.

Sure, one could argue that the ice glyph is basically a glyph of paralysis, and that the weakening effect of rift magic spells could be considered entropic, but i feel that proper Creation/entropy spells give Dragon Age a sort of roleplaying flavor that many other games simply don't have or utilise very well.

I apologise for the whine, but i really really dig the character and how this type of magic is expressed in the novel and i miss the spells.

*Ahem* HEY THERE  :D

I have a question, though. Does the book really describe what Creation is? Because if I am to base it off DA:O, it's can basically do everything. Creates glyphs, healing, creates slick oil, creates LIFE, etc. I tried to interpret it as transmutation, but I would be interested to know what the official sources portray it as so I can get  a better sense of what it can and cannot do.

Could not agree more -The cost of skipping class was so apparently damning for this inquisition mage!

Spellbound on revive there needs to be some skill and timing requirement to essentially force you down a creation pathway to heal and revive with improving efficiency speed of the spell and activation distance improves and health of target on revive improves.

i just find it impossible to justify taking it out lore wise, like the whole damn world forgot how to heal? you see a scene RIGHT at the beginning *Spoilers?* with mother Giselle asks a wounded solider to let a mage HEAL HIM. Like da ****? Idk it just seems inconsistent, especially in a world that we spend a good deal of time recovering lost knowledge AND we've seen mulitple times...

Hmm, I might just move it down the tree to make people go look for it further down. I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the suggestion.

The book describes some healing magic, what I believe is the Heroic offense spell (gives the target a surge of vitality and makes their blows hit a whole lot harder than what is normal), there is also glyph of repulsion (used on a rather impressive enemy).
The heroic offense manifests as an aura around the allies.

Where the book really shines is the use of entropic magic ie Hexes. They are written extremely well.

Here a few of how the spells are described within the novel
