It has been shared multiple times that the development time on DAMP was over 2 years pre-launch, so it was hardly thrown together at the last minute. The destruction Elven Ruins map is my favourite...

I find this suggestion so ridiculous that I have to make a new thread about it.

Ok, if like 1 guy worked on it for 2 hours a week for 2 years then sure, copy paste a few assests and whip up a dodgy netcode - BAM! Dragon Age Multiplayer. Don't even bother testing it. It'll be fine.

Hay man developing a good in-game microtransaction is a lot of hard work. I'd say bioware did an amazing job with the in-game microtranscation with only two years of development time.

Sounds like you would do well in software development OP, if it's that easy for you.

Someone's seriously thinking programming is a piece of cake.

It's not a good look either way. If two years is long enough, they delivered a shoddy product after all that time spent in development. If two years isn't long enough, they intentionally released a shoddy, unfinished product in order to make some sales. Like I said, not a good look either way.

They did say they were working for two years and that it almost turned out to be a game on its own

People are complaining yet we all play it. I'd say well done Bioware.

"All" doesn't necessarily make it a large number.

The casino style RNG platinum system is work of art.

I'm surprised they haven't won awards for it. Think of all that IRL money they be stealing.

It's perfection for anti-consumer practices.

Not in the big scale, but I'm only counting the complainers on MP board, which means all is 100%.

Anyone claiming otherwise is lying.

What I'm saying is that while the game could use some improvements it still has enough ooomph as it is to keep us entertained and hoping for the best when it comes to game's future.

A totally failed product couldn't do that.

No award for BW for that as it's not their trademark. It's what's happening in too many games nowadays. Pretty sad.

People still think more time in development always mean a better product ?

They probably couldn't do much with it till they were a good way through developing single player, and the multiplayer likely spent a good portion of that time in concept. Much like the mass effect first person shooter concept that was created, partially developed then canned, they may have tried out a few ideas before settling on the current format.

I agree it has a lot of faults, but they were using a new engine and developing for two entirely new games consoles too. Just give me lots new content and fix other people's lag/connection errors and I will be a happy guy.

Wrong! There are quite a handful (like me) who no longer play. Even then, have you seen how dead this place is? Compare it to a handful of months ago, and you've got an indicaion of the number of players that have dropped out due to a lack of "ooomph".

The deadness of the forum saddens me more than the lack of pug lobbies. Might have to go lurk in the me3mp forum.

I haven't played in more than a month, but I come here everyday to know about the DLC. I want to keep playing, but I won't until there is something fresh

That has way more activity than this forum, and it's over three years old.

I'm not playing it nor am I lying. I haven't played since before the patch that locked the zone 5 door and I won't be playing again until something significant is added to it. Yeah, it's fun for a while, then it just kind of... tapers off.

It's sadly funny, I know more people who still regularly play the game, but won't come to the forum anymore. They enjoy the game, dislike this community.

Pretty much this.

I drafted a couple of replies to the OP, but in the end sneering unpleasantness can't be debated logically.

I don't know much about software engineering, but PvZ: GW (same engine, same P2P connectivity) has far better netcode then DAMP, 2 year development.... Perhaps someone just spent too much time gazing at those beautifully rendered MP maps?

You're not wrong, but I rarely see those kind of posts on the forum any more, I think they have gone to other sites.
