Hey guys, just wondering if anyone else is noticing obvious graphics tearing or textures quickly switching to black while playing the game. I'm running a Radeon 4850 HD card, and it happens frequently enough to be really distracting..
Graphics issues?

I have the same card - nothing as harsh as what you are describing is happening to me. However, the textures do seem to me to be rather dark. I tried to increase the gamma but then the contrast just looks horid. Now that I think of it - I have noticed at times half the sub-titles blacked out.

To be honest, I feel like alot of people are having minor pc issues with this. Its definitely playable but I get the tearing you describe occasionally when I turn a corner.
Whats more apparent though, is random drops in fps.

The random drops is definitely a lot more common now... I didn't have issues before. Now, after a playthrough, I'm getting them.

Im honestly not sure if the drops in fps is due to a hardware limitation or some sort of memory leak in the game. It seems basically people across the board are having this issue regardless of their specs.
Currently running it off a e6240 2.13ghz which is definitely holding me back, but the smooth fps/ low fps is the same basically if I have everything max or disabled or low resolution.
Just ordered a e7500 to see if a higher clockspeed will help, but Im not honestly expecting this to remedy the issue.

I've got a faster processor than that, but it doesn't seem to be helping the situation much.

I had this weird issue where textures would flicker or go black for a split second. For some reason, forcing anti-aliasing on in my graphics card drivers seemed to work and the flickering stopped. This same thing happened, for me, with Mass Effect 1. I'm using two GeForce 9800GTX's in SLI. BTW, the SLI profile that comes with the latest set of drivers is bugged, it's monitoring something called biogame.exe and not MassEffect2.exe like it should.

Interesting, but from what I've read on other posts, is it possible to force AA with the ATI cards for this game? I think it might not be capable, but once I'm able to try, I will.

Have you downloaded the new ATI Catalyst 10.1 drivers?

the 9.3 (?) drivers seem to work better than the new 10.1

I used the drivers that came with the card and still had the problem. No real change between old to current drivers in this game. Other games it was a huge different
