I just finished the DLC and wanted to give the lowdown of what I think about it. But I'll keep it short, because I love all of you. That's right - smile motherfunkers.

Pros

  • It's the most Dragon-Age-y area in the game. You explore ruins & interesting places and want to know more about them. It is very pretty. (scientifically speaking)
  • All quests are either linked to the area plot or are caused by it. It has a surprising few DAO style quests with moral 50/50 decisions at the end.
  • New hub town with multiple shops & crafting opportunity
  • New uniques, crafting material & schematics
  • It's tough as nails on Nightmare.
  • More Harding
  • Also a bear

Cons

  • Almost no cutscenes or cutscene-style dialogue
  • Almost no new enemies, given the few Avaar encounters in the vanilla game, most noticeably the wildlife. Which I suppose makes sense in a way, but it's also priced video game content we're talking here.
  • Story itself doesn't bear weight on the vanilla plot - since I usually get most content DLC this is a negative for me
  • Combat is harder mostly due to classic "open enemy_stats.txt - add two zeros behind each value - save & close"
  • Still no Mabari. What the hell.

Wishing everybody wonderful holidays, if applicable!

P.S.: I'm very exhausted, so excuse my very exhausted language. On the other hand, the clearer, the better.
