Hi,

 

I recently started playing ME on PS3, I finished all parts on Pc and are kinda familiar with everything.

 

But somehow I am unable to romance Ashley in ME1.

 

On Pc it just worked talking to the LIs after every mission and before Virmire if I romanced Liara and Ash they confonted me and wanted a descision.

But now I only manage to date Liara.

 

I even told Liara I have feelings for Ash and just want to be friends, talked to Ash on every occasion, have been nice, asked about poems and her familiy ... but the only thing I get is no romance at all.

 

Has anyone encountered this problem before ... and found a solution to it?

You might have encountered a bug. In ME1 there was a bug that was never fixed, where at least one of the two lines telling Liara you aren't interested doesn't flag properly. Also asking Liara about Asari reproduction can also lock her as the sole LI if the earlier refusal didn't register properly.

I just restarted, I will avoid that answer, I also think I might have wasted it by giving a non perfect answer in the dialogue about trusting alien allies, I took the left answer basically saying "stfu ash" ... well lets see if it work this time.

Ok I figured out my mistake...

 

I was just clicking through every dialogue thinking the left and upper ones are basically the good ones.

 

In doing so I messed up with Ashley in the dialogue after the 2nd Story Mission.

The upper ones should basically all work.  There were old posts claiming you needed to use a bottom one when she asks about Liara, but in reality it actually doesn't matter.

 

Mostly dialogue that locks out Ash are early "You're out of line" type comments.  The other big problem is as the post above:  Liara has fewer conversations until locked in as LI than Ash, and unfortunately the game lets you progress through all of her dialogue even if you turned her down and wanted to lock in Ash.  Basically it is best to stop talking to her after she asks about Ashley until you either get a confrontation between both of them after the next plot world, or you can wait until after Citadel lockdown, where your LI should approach you on Normandy.

Capn233 already mentioned this, but I just wanted to reiterate: the "stfu" dialogue (left side) about aliens will lock out an Ashley romance.
