Good as you are at this game, Sinful, I don't think many people are good enough to laugh at Caineghis.
It's a shame that he Retired Young
You misunderstand. I'm not laughing at Caineghis. I just think it's funny when I see pugs use this build because of the name of the video & because they do use the wrong ammo on the Acolyte because of the video (which is outdated, since Caineghis knows any other ammo is better now too). So you get the joke now? Cryo Acolyte proves they got it from the video since any other ammo is better, and now add in the title of the video (Platinum made easy) and it makes me chuckle every time I see someone use this build for both those reasons. ![]()
Calling you out on this one. I sometimes just get a kick out of using cheese-rollers. Not every game needs to be a challenge to be considered worthy of my time.
Maybe not too much of a challenge, I agree, since I usually look for nice happy medium matches. But a total joke is not what I'm ever after either.
they could have come up with it on their own, i used cryo on him along time ago w/o watching videosYou misunderstand. I'm not laughing at Caineghis. Yeah, sure, it could happen. ![]()
Yeah, sure, it could happen.
Ditto, never watched videos and I used cryo ammo on the GT in the past.
Obviously they should be using explosive ammo on that acolyte

Yeah, sure, it could happen.
Or it could mean they have tonnes of Cryo ammo to spare.
I use it on my Acolyte now and then when I'm low on other ammo's.

I use Cryo on the Acolyte all the time... because I have an insane amount of it just sitting around.
I especially use it on the GT Flamer. You really don't need to add any more cheese to the super cheese kit, so Cryo is just fine. The kit is great for dumping trash on and still raking. Lol!
I see this kit a lot in gold games with hurricane and/or acolyte and ppl do well with it. I do not mind it.

It must be at least, what, like 4 days since the last you-should-feel-guilty-for-using-this-or-that-kit thread.
Well, you are here posting, so yes, I think you are listenin' =P

Soloed gold with this flamerless trooper
Mass Effect 3 Character Builder | Kalence
took longer than the Kroguard but it was also reapers
the only kit i use hunter mode on

Ah yes, I prefer AP or Drill where I can shoot the acolyte through walls. Explosive is also nice for a little extra damage when they are already turned into crispy corpses.
I used to play him with Acolyte and flamer cheese just when I was grinding credits and didn't want to think. In that build I skipped hunter mode and went into full tank mode. I've since respecced to this and it's way, way more fun. You can use power amp or adreneline instead of cyclonic, but I like the extra shield since you stand and flamer sometimes. Claymore->Flamer (hides reload)->Claymore->dead enemy. The incendiary stacks will kill a brute with that combo, depending on how long you flamer (you only need 2-3 seconds). Claymore gives him damage from range, and flamer does damage up close. Even with hunter mode and 3 ranks in fitness he's still pretty tanky. Probably my favorite geth to play.

Vorcha is so much better with Flamer, he makes GT meaningless.

Not correct. Hunter mode power bonuses, fortification power bonuses, fortification damage reduction, better vision, benefits from shield gear makes GT way way better. The only vorcha that comes close is the sentinel and that's because of cluster grenades. But if you're just talking about flamer, GT wins by a mile.
I ran into a GT yesterday for two games before I had enough. Seemed like since the GT can't detonate his own Flamer he shouldn't be just priming everything like that's his only weapon. Especially if I'm a biotic. So I just made sure I moved in my own direction after the first spawn hit of each wave. Thought it wouldn't be as bad if I played as an Engineer next time, so off to play as the SE. And still I wasn't too crazy about it, and again continued on my own in the opposite direction for most of the game outside of few instances where we all were together (ie. I decided to hold LZ for extraction with lol Decoy VS Geth and Flamer detonations).
It's a pretty strange observation, because if it were a biotic team, detonating as a team feels much better. Heck, even as a non-Flamer/Snap Freeze tech kits. It's just that the massive multi-priming of capabilities & dps of these two powers are just too OP and just really remove all challenge from this game. Literally. Just like when I took 3 very fresh pugs to this game to some Platinum game farming that went super easy breezy just because I told one guy to be a Snap Freeze kit, while another Tripple Overload and that they should be spamming them non-stop. Just these two powers working together alone made holding the line a cake walk with players that have no idea how to play this game. Totally blew me away as I had no idea it would this easy. So how can I not say these powers are totally broken when abused? BioWare really should be ashamed.
But whatever, folks want to play as them is fine. Just don't expect me to stick around. And in the future if BioWare doesn't want to fix these issues for ME Next, then I want a feature that helps me avoid these far too broken game lobbies automatically.

Yeah, I know GT has higher theoretical flamer damage, but it's too damn squishy to stand and flame. Even with cyclonics. Vorcha Soldier / Sentinel has no problem with that, on the other hand, and needs no shield equipment whatsoever.

Can you clear something up? Do you have an issue that there are kits that can survive and wreck by themselves? Or the fact that you can do it easier than other kits? I mean not everyone has friends to play with, and not everyone gets on the mics. Some people just want to go play, and depending on teammates can be...problematic...
Having said that, when I do roll with a team we tend to play kits that play well together. But when I'm not playing with friends I play what I like, and I don't care if they gel with other kits. That doesn't mean I'll roll GT when there's a team of biotics, but if it's engineers and soldiers I'll do it. I don't care if people detonate my flamer because he dishes out plenty of weapon damage and DOT that he doesn't need it.
I have never/would ever use the Acolyte Flamer combo...sounds reallly boring..If I did..I would use Incid. Ammo...makes more sense to me.

Again, not true. GT has more health AND shields than vorcha, plus 40% damage reduction. Bloodlust doesn't make you tanky, it makes you survivable. You can still get health gated in 3 shots no matter what with vorcha and the next hit takes you down, regardless of how much you're regenerated your health. Also ops packs go a longer way with GT than vorcha, and I rarely need to use more than 2 or 3 in a game. If you're just standing out in the open and flaming, you're doing it wrong.

Geth Trooper squishy? Now I've heard it all.
