yes, that did it for me. i can totally understand why he want vengeance on Anders who killed a motherly-figure for him but sheesh, do it yourself there and then and not drag the whole city down with your whims and hypocrisy.

He comes across as rather unhinged in that war table mission - maybe losing his family and then losing Elthina (and the other members of the Chantry killed in the explosion) pushed him over the edge? It seems rather out of character when compared with his character in DA2 when he's terrified of the possibility of Kirkwall being the target of an Exalted March.

I like/love all the companions in DA, aside from the ones in Golems of Amgarrak and Leliana's Song, but if I had to choose 1 PC, 1 warrior, 1 rogue and 1 mage as my least favourite party, it would probably have to be: Hawke or the Inquisitor; Loghain; Sebastian; Solas.

I thought it was funny how Sketch was being chased by people all over Kirkwall.

Indeed. It really seems to fit his character to get chased around by angry people. I don't know why. xD

I actually like Sketch though. It's just that I don't like or love ALL the companions in Leliana's Song and Golems of Amgarrak. I'm not really keen on Tug, though I thought it was funny when he and Sketch perved on Leli and Marjolaine during their tussle. I feel he was a boring character. Maybe if he had more time to really grow as a character, I'd have liked him. As for Golems of Amgarrak, Jerik might be the only half-decent character there. Might be.

Not when you keep Anders alive he doesn't.

That recognition goes to Anders, hands down.

Sure, but this is sort of like Anders' position on giving Fenris back to Danarius. We don't know that he's a total dick that is happy with giving someone to an evil wizard unless we actually do it.

My Sebastian hate primarily comes from the fact that I paid for his DLC but he ends up adding almost nothing interesting (to me) to the story. And it does not help his case when he decides to invade Kirkwall if I let Anders live.

I don't personally hate Carver, but I understand why people don't like him. He is antagonistic to Hawke most of the time.

I would guess that in round 3, it was a close race between Anders and Vivienne who represent opposite sides of the whole mage/templar/chantry thing. I am quite surprised my favorite Anders did not win the list, but perhaps it is Vivienne's passive aggressive "dear" that hits a lot of people's nerves.

As others said Hawke's story is a tragedy. In their story, what can go wrong will go wrong. Hawke's story is not a heroic story like IQ's or HoF's.

I think it's more than that. I had no problem with him until DAI rolled around and he made good on his word to march on Kirkwall. Seriously Sebastian, Anders isn't even there. Why make life even worse for people in Kirkwall?

Not that I like Anders either, but I have world states with him alive.

It figures that the most interesting thing Sebastian does happens entirely off-screen.

It always did bother me a bit that Hawke has no dialogue option during the scene to ask Sebastian that if he wants Anders dead that badly, why does he not just kill Anders himself.

I likec Sebastian, he was flawed but so were all of the companions. It was more of a question of how much his flaws might bother someone.

Sebastian might suck (he does), but his DLC is worth getting. Why? His quest gives you the best act 2 staff in the game, and the BEST dagger in the game.

Well okay, EXTREMELY late game rogue DLC item pack items might be better than the low blade. Like level 24 and above "late game"... And it's still just a maybe, not for sure. And the staff is absolutely the best one you can get in act 2. Remember, spirit damage has a lot of extra attributes others don't so 35 spirit damage is more significant than it sounds. And hey, free Leliana cameo besides the ending ^_^.

I didn't have that much hatred of Sebastian.  I found him too bland and uninteresting to feel one way or the other.  At least Anders or Loghain pissed me off, engendering some kind of reaction, even a negative one.

My problem with Sebastian (or more accurately, DA:Inquisition) is I encountered a bug in the war table missions.  Not only did I get the one where he offers assistance to the Inquisition (the one i was supposed to get with a dead Anders) but I also got the Sebastian goes on the warpath as well...making me scratch my head and...

As for my least favorites in class categories:

PC: hard to pick, I liked them all.

Warrior: Loghain--less useful by the time you get him than the character you're replacing and annoying enough to make me want to hit him upside the head with a 2x4

Rogue: Sebastian--boring

Mage: Velanna--again, another character I'd rather hit with a 2x4 than recruit and edges out over Anders who I at least liked in Awakenings. Plus, Anders had healing abilities making him at least useful in both games.

Yeah, I didn't dislike Sebastian. Like Bethany, he was too inoffensive to dislike (or to like, for that matter). I did enjoy trolling him, though, and I actually kinda liked him when he flipped his sheets over Hawke sparing Anders, but 30 seconds of "Wow, Seb, I didn't think you had it in you!" isn't enough to overcome two acts of "What's the point?" So I guess my biggest issue with him was that you could tell he was an add-on. It was always a question of bringing Sebastian or bringing a companion who participated in the quest, so Sebastian spent the game on the bench, sadly.

Actually, I didn't hate any of the winning/losing team. I flat-out adored Carver. Yeah, he's grumpy, but I understood where he was coming from. He seemed very genuine, as were his loyalty and his love toward his family. I have complex feelings about Vivienne, but at the end of the day, her I find her imperiousness entertaining. And Hawke was probably my favorite protagonist, so no hate there.

If I were to pick my own Ultimate Nadir of Dislike team, it would have to be

--Warden. I used to like her, but the hyperbolic praise the HoF receives only served to remind me that she didn't really have a lot of personality to begin with.

--Oghren. I don't dislike him, but I do dislike the way he was portrayed. Alcoholism isn't a joke. I wish the subject had been handled with more sensitivity.

--Leliana. There's a word for something that's bland and sweet without spice or acid to balance it: cloying. Leliana is cloying.

--Velanna. This was a hard one. I get where she's coming from... but she just isn't a sympathetic character for me. YMMV.

This is hard because for the most part, I grew to like almost all my companions. But if i was forced to choose:

Leader: Hard to pick. I liked them all. If I had to pick one, I guess... Hawke
Warrior: Shale (I found her irritating and her sarcasm did not work for me)
Rogue: Sera (She's ok... but her childish behavior can be a turn off and tiring to deal with)
Mage: Anders (DA2) (I just felt flat out betrayed when he blew up the Chantry. I was never pissed off at a companion like I was with him at that moment)

I didn't dislike Sebastian like many. And I was all with him when he wanted Anders' head.

Sebastian and Carver were my all time favourites. :P

In my opinion, the most awful companions were Ariane, Tallis and Velanna, the first being the worst. I don't think a fictional character has ever made me as irritated.

This list isn't overly surprising though mine own list would be completely different  :P (poor Hawke, you never get any love)

Leader: Inquisitor. I enjoy inquisition and have waaayyy too many inquisitors I plan to play, but I just find the Inquisitor bland. I don't feel that there are really enough non-generic dialogue options available to the inquisitor to be able to define their personality. I felt much more connected with the Warden and Hawke.

Warrior: Justice. I just. . . really didn't like his character in Awakening. I have no better explanation than "I just didn't like him", and then him using Anders as a host in DA2 didn't earn him any favours with me.

Rogue: Sera. She's just too childish bratty and close-minded.

Mage: Velanna. Easily the most unsympathetic character in DA history IMO. I understand her plight, and I even went out of my way to earn full approval with her, but all I still wanted to do was slap the crap out of her. At least Morrigan and Vivienne (two other unsympathetic characters) showed some apathy if you were friendly with them. Velanna just kept up her tirade of ME ME ME's!
