This poll is not very accurate. Why so little characters? I don't see Tallis in the list...

The poll was never going to be accurate. The sample size was too small for that.

Margin of error = 1 divided by the square root of the sample size

So, if there were 250 votes for each round (there weren't that many), the margin of error would be about 6.3%. For each round. There were four rounds, and the propagation of errors means that every round will increase the margin of error. Exponentially. So yeah, the poll wouldn't have been an accurate representation of the BSN, let alone the people playing the game.

But I'm guessing that wasn't the point of this thread, which was to give people a chance to feel validated in their opinions of dislike. Because, hey! Even if you disliked Varric, at least some people are bound to agree with you.

Plus, as you noted, the poll excludes Tallis and Loghain, two of the most divisive characters in the series. If you believe that temporary companions should be included... in which case, Finn, Arianne, Sketch, Tug, Silas, and the Golems of Amgarak folks should be in there, too.

Ugh. Remind me to stop posting before coffee.

This.

My original beef with Seb was that he filled the same role as Varric, he was just worse at it and nowhere near as cool. Then the war table mission happened.

I can't entirely blame him. Kirkwall is a mess, and it's basically Maleficars-R-Us. Hawke couldn't walk a block without running into an insane/evil/blood mage.

I love Sebastian, and I think his threat at the end of DA2 is totally in character. It's colored a bit by the fact I loathe DA2 Anders to an insane degree and think he's an absolute moron, so I've never let him walk. He always dies.

I still think the lack of an option to let Sebastian slay Anders had little to with with Sebastian's character, but rather was a design decision to avoid making an extra cutscene and more plot flags ("Did Anders die and who killed him?" etc.). Same reason you can't give Anders to the templars even though your companions talk about it in front of you.

Ugh. You use every character for people to choose, not everyone will like the characters you like. Even the characters "voted" most popular will be disliked by people.

Start the first poll with every character. Make the next poll with the characters with the highest votes, the next poll with the characters with the highest from that etc.

This poll has what, 6 characters chosen by one person...
