Iron Bull, Sebastian, Vivienne

Iron Bull's a wet blanket. I was disappointed in him, so he's the only warrior in that group I'm really ambivalent to. Sebastian I liked, but he's up against two of my favorite rogues (along with the first round trio, top five :) ). Vivienne I ended up liking, mostly for her voice performance and visual, and her main companion quest, but not as much as the other two overall. I think Anders and Velanna still have interesting stories in them I'd like to see. I really don't think Vivi was given enough content.

Anyone who votes against Sten should have the Qunari invade their home.

It pleases me to see Vivienne losing though.

It's good to see that I'm not the only one who thinks an opinionated black woman is far, far worse than a terrorist who murders in cold blood.

Sten, Sebastian, Vivienne.

To be fair to Sten, I always sort of naturally ignored him in Origins. His unpleasant attitude never made me want to get to know him, and I eventually started passing over him at camp. Then at the end he thanked me for freeing him and said he wouldn't look for me on the battlefield and I was like... oh? We're friends? I feel bad about giving you the cold shoulder, bro. If I ever go back to Origins I'll give him a fair chance. I hope we run into him as Arishok in the future.

Sebastian was okay, but not someone I took out on missions often. And then at the end he LEFT me because of Anders? STAB YOUR FRIEND, OR I'M TAKING MY DOLLS AND GOING HOME. Granted, my Hawke didn't approve of Anders' actions at all despite being a mage himself. He felt betrayed, but didn't think taking a powerful mage off the board at that moment could help anyone. So he spared him for the moment, and Sebastian pissed off. And I was like, really? You're a DLC character, dude! I paid extra for you! And you want to demand things of me? You don't exist without my credit card! GOODBYE! And you can bet I denied that dork's request to invade Kirkwall in DA:I.

Vivienne, I just simply don't care for. I can sympathize with loyalist mages who prefer life in the Circle but to try and enforce that life on others who don't want it didn't fly with my Inquisitor. They remained civil but the two could have butted heads in an ugly way if allowed.

Warrior- Aveline. Good enough character but I find the other three much more interesting.

Rogue- Sigrun. Probably the only character I've ever actively avoided recruiting in this or the ME series. Not a fan at all.

Mage- I get the feeling you chose these three on purpose! Had to vote for Anders since I dislike him in DA2 and can't bear him in Awakening. At least Velanna and Vivienne are only unlikeable in one game!

This one was harder because I wasn't sure who I disliked more. Warrior was the only one where I liked everyone, so I chose who I liked the least :P

Warrior: Sten

Rogue: Sebastian

Mage: Velanna, she's the only character I dislike as much as Vivienne. Since she's been around longer, honor goes to her.

Warrior: Sten. I actually kind of like him, but compared to all the others, he is the one I like the least.

Rogue: Sebastian.

Mage: Vivienne.

Oh poor Nathaniel! I have only one thing to say to everyone who voted for him: Howe dare you?! ;)

Sten (One from each game? Ugh. The warrior choice was hard. Though, to be fair, if we were going off of first playthrough impressions, this would be accurate.)
Sebastian
Vivienne

I'll admit that I laughed but the Vivienne hate isn't a racial thing. There's just a general anti-Chantry, anti-Circle sentiment on the BSN. Also a common thought among RPG gamers is that a character who is contemptuous and arrogant towards the PC is automatically worse than Satan. The deck was stacked against Viv before her final appearance was decided.

yeah, till now I still cannot believe he tried to force me to kill Anders (not that I don't understand his anger at all but that time, Anders was already mad and he is a much more powerful and interesting character than u). I wish that was an option when he tried to kill Anders nonetheless and I fought and killed him. But no, he escaped back to Starkhaven like the pu**y he was even before he met Hawke and then THREATEN to start a wall on Kirkwall (where the citizens have nothing to do with this) just to find Anders.

1.) Sten... it's weird because I identify a lot with his character, but I can never get along with him very well through my Warden. Iron Bull was pretty ridiculous but at least there was something friendly there. Aveline and Shale ofc blow the competition out of the water.

2.) SeaBass... I like him, he is just the least of the three for me.

3.) Anders... least favorite character in the series.

Also, I am sad that "Justice"-nonsense survived a round.

1.)  Sten.  Maybe he's an interesting character, but I find him very irritating.  I don't like it when characters act like people from other cultures are morons for having different ideas and practices and there's nothing else in his character that redeems him enough to surpass the other options.

2.)  Sebastien.  Mostly because he just feels like the odd-man-out.  His personal missions are interesting, but outside of those he seems kind of bland to me.  Aside from that, I think it's a dick move to try to take over Kirkwall just because Anders had operated there.  That makes me think that he's too willing to discount any harm he might do as necessary sacrifices in the name of righteous duty.

3.)  Velanna.  I don't even really dislike Velanna.  I just feel like there's nothing that really makes her stand out.  As much as I disagree with what Anders does in DA2, I still can't help but feel a bit of sympathy for him and he does have moments in which he's actually enjoyable.

1. I like Sten, I really do, but it was between him and Bull, and in the end I decided I slightly prefer Bull. Basically because of the Chargers/Dreadnought decision, which gave me a lot of trouble in DA:I... feels! But Sten never really had a moment like that. Sooo.

2. Sebastian. It's Sebastian. xD

3. Velanna. She's probably my least favorite out of all the DA companions, and while I don't dislike her, I don't feel much for her either.

Out of the three, and it's more "meh" than hatred. "We get it, you're the cool Qunari." Also 2H-AI-Warriors being unexpectedly squishy if not skilled/equipped perfectly made me not even respect him on the battlefield - but he's a nice guy and mostly supports things I agree with, so that has to be said.

  • Sebastian
He was so comically appalling, they couldn't have believed anyone would care for him themselves. I have no idea whether he's a good character or not, I never had any intention of speaking to him.

  • Velanna
"Yeah, well, you know, I don't like you either. Glad we had this talk."

I've never really understood all the Sebastian hate.

I know some people think he's boring, I get that, but some people just seem to resent the fact that he's religious, or that he wanted to kill Anders after the bastard murdered his surrogate mother and blew up his place of worship, which also happens to have been his home since he was a boy and he probably knew most of the brothers, sisters, and mothers by name.  Did you have any inclination to spare Quentin when he killed Leandra?  I don't think so...

Totally agree. I love Sebastian, of all the DA2 characters he ties with Aveline as one of my favorites. And of that list I must say that he even beats out Cole for me. I too don't get why some people dislike the fact that he's religious, I never found it to be bothersome in any way. He doesn't push it in your face and he's pretty open minded about it.

I don't care about the fact he's religion, what i care is that, he can't say anything non-related to the maker and andraste (same thing for anders and the "let mage be free") If you have those 2 in your party they will always be fighting each other about why the chantry this, why the chantry that ...

That said, i like the 2 other rogues so... i just like Seb less than the other.

I don't really hate Sebastian and I don't mind that he's religious.  I don't like the idea of him invading and attempting to annex Kirkwall by force because of what Anders did, especially since his actions were supported by almost no one.  I'd feel different if he wanted to bring Anders to justice or even to get revenge in a way that didn't drag innocent people into the middle of the issue OR if Anders' action had been officially supported.

I don't think I actually had Anders and Sebastian in the same party very much. I like Merrill and Seb's chats though, they're quite amusing. And Isabela with Seb is quite funny too.
