Why is Sebastian so disliked? He mostly keeps to himself and isn't even annoying or rude. Anyone care to educate me about the Sebastian hate?

Least favourite ever goes to Sebastian because I actually love the other 3.
But it would actually be Anders. Man I love to hate Anders.
Least favourite has to be Vivienne for me. I found her the most boring out of the selection.
I love Seb and Carver and snarky Hawke is fun.

My vote goes to Vivienne. I hate the Game and her "My dear"
Warrior: Iron Bull (will be leaving him on the beach i think on next play-through 
)
Rogue: Sera ( i love snarkyness but nope big let down )
Mage: Vivienne ( expected so much more)
Leader: HoF (definitely the hardest choice)
Strange that Anders didn't make it to the final round. Sebastian, though, was totally expected and I hope will take the first place.

Tallis needs to be in this list imo, not to mention can you not interact with her properly(writer God-moding on her character cause of Felicia Day) but she makes your Hawke look like an absolute imbecile.
EDIT: Who chose the poll? Why not narrow the least favourite characters down from a large list and then get smaller to find the most hated character?
I'm going to have to throw all my support to Sebastian. My least favorite character across all of the games/expansions/DLCs/etc..

yeah, unfortunately, i forgotten about her and Loghain. Tallis was a one-time thing so it wasn't so bad but I shouldn't have missed Loghain.
The poll will be too long and messy if i just put them altogether. doing this allows all to take part more evenly. because if they cannot 'win' in their respective rounds, they are unlikely to win even if we put them altogether. The fact that Vivienne tops Anders in their round shows that even if I pit Anders against her in a all mage round (or if Anders won his respective round against other mages), Vivienne would still have won the dishonorable title.
I vote Sebastian. Exactly the kind of person I do not like and I'm generally a religious person. He has no redeeming qualities, little to no depth, and after my first couple of playthroughs I almost always skipped recruiting him.
Least favourite top 3 would be:
1. Fenris
2. Anders
3. Hawke
Because somehow the first two don't show up in the voting, Hawke gets the "Dislike" stick.

Agreed, Chimaru. Tallis is the most boring character for me 
I hate Sebastian, but I voted for Carver. I absolutely hate playing a mage in DA2 because I'm stuck with him instead of Bethany. I wish you could save Bethany and stick Carver in the ogre's mouth in the first part of the game. Or, at the very least, stab him to death in his sleep. I spent a great deal of the game trying to burn him to death. It reminded me of the Phantom Menace game, where I spent the whole game trying to slice JarJar in half.

I do not think the two correlate to each other. Carver is a companion who, if you play as 2 out of the 3 classes available, is only a companion for the first 10 minutes. And if you play as a mage, he's only available for about half the game.
Sebastian is a day-one DLC companion - which made a lot of people hate him from the start, just on principle. But if you don't have the DLC, you never have him, and if you do, you only get him for half the game - during which he has less content than the other companions.
I think all the DA games have good and bad companions. Overall, for instance, I like the ones from Awakenings the least. But since they're only around for such a short time, they aren't as offensive to me as the ones I dislike from the other games. I don't think it's fair to say that a game with some companions I love and some that I hate is worse than a game where I feel "meh" about all the companions - but when voting for the worst companions, of course the ones I hate are going to beat out the ones I'm "meh" about.

And Alistair throws a tantrum and tries to run away when I try to recruit an extra Warden, so it's not exclusive to Sebastian. Sebastian knew Elthina for more than a decade compared to Hawke knowing Anders for 6 years so it's understandable why Sebastian leaves. He lost his mother and you expect him to just be happy you let the murderer go?
Also I don't see him as self-righteous, he doesn't go around telling people he's always right about his beliefs like Anders and Fenris and he isn't delusional about his beliefs like DAO Leliana

But I liked Alistair for most of the game until that point. I found Sebastian annoying the entire time I had him in my party, going on about Andraste and the Chantry every other minute it seemed. After one time I never recruited him again and regret buying the DLC at the time.
