I've reached the part of the Old Temple in Jaws of Hakkon in the Ameridan's End quest where the guy is chanting and you have to stick near the braziers to stay warm. There's a barrier right above where the chanting dude is, but it hasn't gone down and isn't vulnerable to magic like other barriers in the main game are. I have no idea what else I'm supposed to do to get past this barrier, and I'm getting really tired of this guy's chanting.

 

Is this a glitch? I killed everybody before the barrier, but there is one large Avvar warrior who's just wandering around, even though I've already killed him. That's the only strange thing I've found. Or am I missing something else?

Must be a glitch. The barrier is supposed to drop after you kill everyone infront of it. I would suggest loading a save before the fight and see if that fixes it.

Gah, that's what I was afraid of. I don't think I have a save that recently. Looks like I'm storming the fortress again. o.O;;

ETA: If anyone else gets the same glitch, I was able to leave the temple and go back in. The enemies respawned, and the barrier dropped when I defeated them.

Better yet: always make frequent, multiple and separate hard saves to save a lot of trouble in case of any glitches.
