Morrigan & Loghain, and other completely missing story threads

For the most part, I really like the way Inquisition brings together story elements from both previous Dragon Age games, books and graphic novels.

However, am I the only one who feels like in some areas Bioware REALLY dropped the ball? There are entire story threads that are just completely missing in this game, and their absence is actually jarring.

Specifically, if you managed to keep Loghain alive in Origins, and made him go through the weird 'sex ritual' with Morrigan (I worked really hard to keep Loghain alive purely because he's voiced by Simon 'Kain' Templeman, and wanted to hear Kain's voice in future games :P ).

They had an obvious opportunity to have some dialogue scenes between Morrigan and Loghain as a follow up to that story thread in Origins, but instead all we get is one tedious, throw-away line from Loghain in his final scene in the whole game; "Give my regards to the witch." And even that's only if you don't sacrifice him in the Fade.

When he's in Skyhold, he is standing not 30 FEET from his son and the mother of his child, and yet, what, he just hangs back, takes it easy and decides to say nothing? And Morrigan, when you're asking her about the kid's father, doesn't feel the slightest bit inclined to mention that his father is standing just around the corner up a flight of stairs? I know you could come up with some really weak explanations for this, like, 'Loghain didn't want anything to do with the child' and 'Morrigan doesn't want anyone to know' etc etc, but come on. There should have been SOMETHING.

Likewise, I think it's kind of ridiculous that there isn't ONE scene with any kind of dialogue between Cassandra and Hawke. Cassandra spent the entirety of Dragon Age 2 and several years after searching for Hawke, she's travelled half of Thedas in that search, and then when Hawke finally shows up on her doorstep, she doesn't feel any need to even have a conversation? I took Cassandra with me into the Fade, hoping that there would maybe be SOME kind of 'banter' dialogue where she addresses Hawke, but nope, nothing. I was surprised they actually bothered to put in that scene where she goes crazy at Varric, because honestly, it's like the writers just completely 'forgot' about these character relationships and story arcs.

These aren't huge deals and it's still a pretty good game regardless, but I do feel like the writers at Bioware aren't keeping track of their own story sometimes. :/

Well... lets hope they realise and make sure not to let this happen in the next game.

There is interaction between Loghain and Morrigan if Kieran is his son but it's just one line and afterwards they have no interactions. Wish they interacted more.

There is, in fact, supposed to be a scene between the warden if it is Loghain or Alistair, and if Morrigan has a child by Loghain, Alistair or the warden (either OGB or regular no-ritual child because the Warden and Morrigan were in a romance). They're written, voiced and in the game--but for most people (not all) the triggers are broken.

Since Cassandra was only looking for Hawke as a possible Inquisitor, Cassandra has absolutely no relationship with Hawke, and by the time you meet him, they have an inquisitor,  i don't see why there would need to be any dialogue, short of 'do you want to join up?'

As for the other, from what I understand, there is a convo between Alistair and Morrigan, or Loghain and Morrigan if they do the dark ritual.  I haven't experienced it yet, but that's because in my first two playthroughs Alistair was king and Loghain was just a memory.  I'm hoping this time, with a world state in which my warden and Alistair remained with the wardens, I will get that content...and more.

About Loghain and Kieran:

About Cassandra and Hawke:

it's true that they could've shown them interacting, but banter between with Varric suggests that Cass and Hawke did talk a bit off-screen. Also, she's the only one of your companions to have a reaction on the Champion's

other than Varric. Other than that, she seems interested in Hawke's fate,as she asks Varric if their sibling and love interested knew about what happened at the end of Here Lies The Abyss.

Having Cass and Hawke interact can't work without controlling Hawke. You'll note aside from the BM bit which didn't make lore sense in DA2 to start with Bioware tries not to override your story too much.

I killed Willem Dafoe Loghain, so no issues for me.

I've had three PTs where Alistair is alive and Morrigan had the OGB with him and that extra content has never triggered even though I did things so Alistair and Morrigan would both be at Skyhold at the same time.

Of course in my current PT the game seems to think my female Warden was in a relationship with Morrigan and Alistair -_- So thing can get all around wonky anyway.
