Does DA:I has enough replayability for you?

In DA:O we had different origins. If nothing else, that pushed people to at least start a new playthrough in order to see the initial differences in the story.

In DA:I on the other hand, the game starts always the same, with the difference only in the choice of class.

One choice that adds to replayability is the Mage/Templar choice. But even this choice has only limited effects on the game and therefore replayability, and obviously it is only one fork in the road.

Myself, I finished one playthrough (Qunari, Mage, supported Mages), and have abandoned two more (started, never finished).

The Jaws of Hakkon DLC was nice to playthrough once, but do I really want to play it again?

There is no real replayability there either.

Ever since we heard that DA:I will not have modding support, I knew that replayability was going to suffer horribly.

But I admit that I was hoping for better.

Do you feel that DA:I has enough replayability for you? Is the fact that you can change Gender/Romance/Class/Spec/faction enough for you to replay DA:I many more times?

It has enough. I still have things to experience and stuff I want to experience again. The reason why I don't want to is because that stuff I want to experience requires me to play through gameplay that I find horrible. The combat and the open world are just not enjoyable for me, so I'm struggling to even get out of the prologue let alone get to Skyhold.

You do get different origins in this one for the different races, different war table missions too, as well as the romance options etc. So although not quite as much as Origins had I have still replayed this one six full playthroughs so far and still intend to do more while I wait for Witcher to be released in May. Not played the dlc because I am playing on PS4 & as Bioware made the mistake of not releasing the dlc till May for those of us not on Xbone or PC I will wait till I finish with Witcher before I buy the dlc.

Not really. For me, the grinding for power really kills the game, and I find it hard to continue past Haven honestly. I've dropped two characters after getting to skyhold. I think DAI might be another game BW game I only complete once. Maybe when more DLC comes out for it I'll buy that and play it, like I did with DA2. There was probably six or seven months between my DA2 playthroughs though, all the DLC had been out for awhile, so it might have been even longer.

For me, all the factors above have given the game alot of replayabilitiy, though some of the side quests have worn thin.  In my case, I tend to stick with my inquisitor throughout fights about 90% of the time, leaving the other party members to the AI and the wisdom of my ability points choices.  Currently, I'm going through my third time as a mage so that I could try out the Necromancer specialization after doing the other two specializations earlier.  (I like Rift Mage best; Necromancer sucks.  Knight Enchanter is okay, but Spirit Blade makes you too much like a warrior and not enough like a Mage.)  Thus, it'll take me nine play-throughs to try out all specializations.  The other factors are important but not as important as class.

So far, every time I play, I always seem to find something I missed before which keeps things interesting.  OTOH, certain quests become annoying and are skipped entirely.  (Currently avoiding seeing Blackwall at Skyhold to avoid the annoying "dog story" and that quest.)

Sure, on my third play through.

Though I will have a good break after this one.

Well my first two playthroughs were extremely different (good female human mage, then evil male sword and shield qunari) with different world states as well, so I'd say yes. I'm on the fourth playthrough now (after playing as an archer male noble) and I'm playing as a female elf mage to have my heart broken by Solas. There are a lot of different stuff you can do when it comes to main missions and romances, but if you do exploration and stuff that part stays the same, unfortunately.

This is hard to answer to be honest. I'm currently playing my second playthrough, just before the What Pride Had Wrought. Does it have enough replay-value for 2 playthroughs? Definitely. Even if it's just to experience the story/companion moments again. I also chose the templars this time, after choosing mages my first playthrough. That is, as you said, a key point of replayability, since you get a totally different main quest-line for each. I'm not sure what to do whenever I do a third playthrough though. I also changed my world-state to have Alistair as a Warden for the second run, which helps. I also need to do a Nightmare playthrough, so there is that. Though, it doesn't exactly excite me because combat will be even more tedious, but it's something on my to-do list.

Does it have enough replay-value for a third or fourth playthrough? I don't know. Maybe after a break. The grinding for materials and uninteresting tertiary quests are loathsome, but I'm too much of a completionist not to do them. So, a break sounds optimal. Unfortunately, I don't really have other games to play, as Inquisition was the only game I bought in 2014, besides the Master Chief Collection (games I've had for years) and DA2 at the beginning of the year. I also have no interest in playing as a male. Additionally, playing as other races is is not as appealing as in DA:O, since is doesn't change much. And I have no interest in any of the romance options, so that doesn't help replay-value either. All this is leaving me wondering what I'll do when I finish this run...

After completing my first playthrough at launch, I would of said No. But that was mainly due to that emotional build up at the end. Now that I've had a breather from the game, I can say there is quite a bit of replayability for me.

Different consequences from the Keep, I want to try a Nightmare playthrough next, experience most of the Romances (Next up is Dorian, then Cullen). Eventually make a Dwarf, Elf, and Qunari, even though that is unlikely, but the option remains there.

With Witcher coming out on the 19th of May, I'll obviously be taking a break from Inquisition to get a W2 save ready for The Wild Hunt. Then I'll no doubt be back for more Inquisition, with DLC's.

Also the Multiplayer, I've now unlocked Arcane Warrior so I'll be playing the Multiplayer a lot.

But to answer your question, Yes it does. I did not see the replayability value at launch, after soaking in everything I experienced

Spoiler
, but now that I had a breather, I can say there is.

Heck, I'll most likely do Origins - DA2 -  Inquisition play through's as well. I really want to play as the Warden again, and I want to revisit Kirkwall as well.

The "origins" in Origins are like an hour, 90 minutes TOPS.  While they are interesting, they are in no way so dramatically fulfilling as to make Origins a vastly superior game.  If Origins started you out at Ostagar and gave you some panels explaining what happened and how you got there, I really don't see how that would be that much different... just like Inquisition.

As far as replayability?  Yeah, it's got that in spades.

There's already so much to do and see which will easily take 100-200 hours alone. If you add in DLC, that's even more time. It'll take people who play 2-3 hours a day awhile and even once they're finally done, I can see a few month break and starting a new playthrough with different decisions, party members, and build.

It's replayability I think is good for the amount of stuff you can do and explore. Always have MP too to keep the person busy. :)

Yes'm. This is the first game in the series where I've actually been torn on the class alone. I was always a dual-wield rogue with little exception, yet here the mage and archer rogue have won me over immensely. I consider both of these to be very fun to play. The mutually exclusive missions and the multitude of Winter Palace outcomes make it worth a couple of replays as it is to me.

I have played through maybe 6 times? (478 hours at present)

(But with Origins I played it over and over again for 1200 hours because of the mods and stuff)

I do love inquisition- its a beautiful and immersive game world and the characters and story are wonderful for me. The lack of modding support though is such a shame, I truely miss the mods.

Maybe the BE and some more armours and hair choices would help a lot for me, I am certainly looking forward to being able to change my hair and make-up whenever I head out.

Heres the thing because of the mods for origins I literally played around with the game for months on end, I therefore bought every single bit of dlc that came out as I was still busy with the game.

Im not sure how long Ill be paying with Inquisition. But its still my second best ever game, I love it!

No. In my opinion, the only DA game that has "enough replayability" is Dragon Age: Origins. We can play as different races, classes, backgrounds and each has different beginnings, each have their own parts of game in the further areas of the game. Like Landsmeet and dealing with Rendon Howe for a Human Noble origin, Circle of Magi for Mages, Dalish Camp for Dalish Origin, Denerim Alienage and Arl of Denerim's prison for City Elf Origin and Orzammar for Dwarf Origin. So you can play with each different background and enjoy it as if it was a new game. Played with every different race, background, class and gender.

Not even discussing DA2, funny to even think that it could have any "replayability" at all or so I think. Lame protagonist, lame story, lame gameplay, lame everything except Qunari designs. Could barely force myself to finish that one and it was only for the lore.

DAI starts the same, goes the same and ends the same regardless of the race, gender or class. That's not what solely makes a game totally replayable of course but in DAO it had a great effect. DAI is full of fetch quests, power grinding and time wasting, pointles trivial missions. Played and finished for a second time, never played again after that. Doesn't worth doing 80 hours of fetch quests and power grinding to replay 10 hours of main missions.

As some said before, The Witcher is coming! So I won't be playing DAI for the third time, obviously. Unless a Warden DLC comes of course.

Yep!  Four complete playthroughs.  First was a mage human (m), second was a warrior human (m, two hander), third was a mage elf (m), fourth was a Qunari warrior (f snb).  I'm most of the way through a fifth playthrough with a mage elf (f).

I have yet to play a rogue or a dwarf and I haven't experienced all of the romance options, which are done well enough for me to want to try them all.  And, in each game, I discovered something new.

YMMV.

Brandon Trevelyan: Hey people, do you think this game has replayability?

Maelyn Adaar: I don't know, there aren't that many decisions to make and character types to play.

Arianne Lavellan: Says the person who gobbled up the Well of Sorrows and then made Vivienne the ****** Queen Divine.

Sandor Trevelyan: Wait, you people didn't manage to make all three Orlesian leaders dance to your tune? *scoffs*.

Albert Cadash: Please speak up, I can't hear you folks over the sound of me making Erimond Tranquil out of spite. Oh, you didn't have the stones to do that? How precious.

I usually don't replay games. I play them once and move on. I don't do that with the DA games primarily because of the romance stories and the varied character backgrounds (gender, race, origin) that offer different perspectives of the same romance options. I'm also not a completionist, so I'm always going to have a different experience on any given playthrough, too. In that respect, DAI has plenty of replayability for me.

Honestly? No it doesn't have much replayability outside of romances/ class you do.

With that said, it does have longevity in that I still find myself playing the game post end so that I can explore and do more side quests

Yes, I think there is. For my first play through I went for a female human, sword and shield, romanced Blackwall, roleplayed it as the virtuous modest hero, sided with the mages. I got the most out of it by avoiding all trailers, reviews, forums, FAQs, etc for the entire duration. Also avoid exploits and farming. That's my canon run, the one where I really got into the character's emotions and made all the discoveries for myself.

Currently towards the end of my second play through and I'm still enjoying it. This is my "player knowledge" play through so I'm deliberately going for the best schematics, farming the best materials, trying to complete the fetch quests. Character is a pragmatic male Dalish nationalist, romanced Ruffles, dual daggers, still siding with the mages

I think I've got another play through I'd like to do -- female Quanri, mage, romance Sera, believes she's been sent by the Maker, sides with the Templars. And a world state that allows Alistair to be the warden. However, I may wait for a couple of months/DLC/patch cycles before I do that.

I've to say I'm a peculiar case. :P  To the second question, seven out of the eight PTs, the inq is a female human noble, 2H warrior that went with Cullen for LI. The odd one is a human male noble, 2H warrior that went with Cass for LI. The other differences are faction and Keep tapestries.  I think that pretty much answers the first question.  ;) The same can be said for DAO regards protagonist; female human, although I did  get the back story of other races but that's about it because I never complete their PTs. Romance wise, I tend to stay with the same LI unless there're interesting variations; two for DAO, three for DA2. DAI has the least. Even so, I did so many PTs definitely not for the romances.

> play on PC

> use cheat engine to get past boring parts

> play only your favourite parts

> profit!

Also 8!! (10 if you're doing IB and Josie with both genders) romances to explore and due to the way the romance system works, I think you can only enjoy one per playthrough so hey, that adds playability for me. Then again, I'm a sucker for romances and I love most if not all of Bioware's characters.

Oh and I mix and match choices in most of my playthroughs to get a variety of different world states.

Replay-ability not only depends on the variety of play but on how good what is there, er, is.

Tomb Raider (2013) had no variety (it's a linear game) but for being perfectly formed justified 3 play throughs.

The Witcher 2 got 2 for its decision variety.

Skyrim twice (main plot + most quests)

I can only ever play an Assassin's Creed game once as there are only so many collectibles I want to fetch (except Black Flag: twice).

Mass Effect - 6 times for 1 and 2, 2x for ME3.

DA:O I probably played 10 times for having multiple origins and being awesome.

DA2, 4 times, though The CaveTM was mightily tiresome.

DAI, 3 times so far.

There are only so many 3rd person RPG/actionRPG/action/stealth games out there

I'll be honest. I was looking forward to play through this game multiple times, like I did DAO and DAII, but the game is simply... too big. the open world isn't my first choice. I've finished 2 playthoroughs now, one main and one alternate. I'd love to do a third but I'm finding it hard to egt started. Kinda... looking up against the massive grind.
