I am not sure about *dead*, but when you're spawning into a match and you hear the "loot picked up sound" (from pots or chests) you *do* get that gold.

 

I guess it is fair... enemies can attack you while you're spawning in but before you gain control of your character; it's only fair that you also get gold during that time.

 

Don't know about *dead* but it would be fairly easy to test with a friend.

Yes.  I do believe this applies even if you join late (ie level5).  However, not 100% sure on that.

When I say dead I mean in the fade (3 knock outs) because you dont hear any gold being picked up at that time

Why bother asking such a question? I don't get it.
It's easy to tell that if you play the game that you get the loot, dead or alive. If you're in the group, you get the loot.

Yes.  The only thing you lose out on is XP: if you quit/CTD you lose all that XP.

I can confirm this. I joined a g as me in progress once and before my sreen loaded i heard the "it is war.. there are casualties in war" speak and i went from Black screen to here are the items you got screen and the host left before it counted out the score.
