Sean Bean.
Would an announcement that Sean Bean is the VA be considered a spoiler?
Because of course the hero would die in the end.

I think he lost that Canadian/Minnesotan thing in ME3... And Meer sounds this way in interviews now too.
That's a shame. It made him sound unique. But I think I heard a little wisp of it here and there in ME3.

He still sounds a little Canadian to me when he says "a-boat" and "eh?".
Starting a petition to get Nolan North cast as the male protagonist right now.... ![]()
Give him a South-African accent.
If you want atypical protagonist voices, you should play Saints Row 3 and 4.I do not know how to describe it using words, but a majority of all male videogame main characters all share that same.....sound when it comes to their voice. That sort of grizzly voice that I guess is supposed to make them seem more tough but many times comes across as phony and lame. I am going to list a few characters that all share this same sound.
Aden - Watchdogs
Solid Snake/Big Boss - Metal Gear series
Master Chief - Halo
Adam Jenson - Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Gerult - The Witcher series
to name a few....
I guess the best example I can give is to go look at Snake Plissken from Escape from LA/New York and listen to his voice and you'll get a better audio example of what I am talking about. Basically, that type of voice seems to be the stock voice for male videogame protagonist and it is very annoying. This is what I liked about male Shepard as he didn't have that stock voice and yet his voice was still masculine and commanding.
So what are your thoughts on this? Do you want our male hero in ME4 to have the stock male videogame voice or something more unique?
I think the voice should reflect the type of character in which BioWare chooses to put us. If they give us a less defined character (essentially a blank slate like the Warden), I think a stereotypical everyman/action hero voice would be appropriate. It might not be very unique, but a generic voice is less likely to alienate the player. On the other hand if BioWare gives us control of a more emotionally defined character like Geralt, I'd like to see them give us some interesting voice talent.
However, I think the best course of action would be to iterate upon DA:I's multiple voices. Rather than have 3 different people read the same lines, maybe BioWare could gives us 2-3 voices with varying degrees of emotion, eloquence, mannerisms, etc. We could choose between a "royal" character who enunciates perfectly and consistently or cowboy-ish type who ain't afraid to toss 'round a few colloquialisms. It would be more work, but I think the ultimate effect would be fun.
Regardless, I've never been particularly annoyed by a protagonist's voice. So long as he or she can act, I'm fine with them.
Hopefully they'll reuse DA:I's British/American accent choice. That'll add a bit of variety to replays.
I love all the people in this thread who are like "what, you have a problem with normal Western male voices?"
Maybe all your friends sound like Batman, but my experience in the working world is much different.
