The OP is complaining that there is no Peace solutions, where you can get the factions to work together, but instead have to wipe one out.
David Gaider stated he isn't a fan of a universal happy ending, seeing them as basically cheap cop outs. Hopefully now that he isn't on the project anymore we can get the Peace endings again.

David Gaider stated he isn't a fan of a universal happy ending, seeing them as basically cheap cop outs. Which is a shame. One of my favorite moments in the Mass Effect series was getting the Geth and Quarians to end the war and be allies, even friends. Hopefully now that he isn't on the project anymore we can get the Peace endings again.
Seeing how Inquisition ended, that makes David Gaider either a pretty outrageous hypocrite or perhaps not all that good at his job. Unless it was absolutely hammered down by someone up above, I suppose.
I literally cannot think of an example of a 'cheap happy ending' worse than Inquisition.

Well, if we were all so diplomatic, we would never get anything solved. Factions would still continue to fight behind the peace. This brings back the whole Peace between Quarians and Geth debate. Those were the days...

It wasn't peaceful twelve hundred years before.
And that was when Tevinter wasn't sinking into a pit of self inflicted economic ruination.

I don't know.
Between shooting themselves in the foot with the blight and Andraste it hardly seems that way.
From Fereldan to Tevinter itself those barbarians just kept going.
And then having to cede away Thedas to keep them out? Tsk.

You think that the guy who wrote the Solas romance is going to give us a lot of happy, peaceful endings? I have my doubts.
Anyway, Thedas is not a place where you will always be able to get every faction to agree on a compromise. You can do that sometimes, but some conflicts are such that the parties are unlikely to ever agree to disagree - much as in the real world.

He is also the one who made it possible for the Geth and Quarians to both survive and become friendly again in Mass Effect 3. Patrick will make it hard, but make it possible. As for Solas we still have a DLC cycle to see where that goes.
We have yet to ever be able to do that in Thedas though.

Not really. That just end in massive rumors of civil war.

How is Inquisition a happy ending? It solves nothing except the biggest problem on the block, all the Dragon Age heroes ever seem to do. Tevinter, the Qunari, fighting over the Orlesian throne, even potentially the future of the Chantry, the Seekers, the Circles, the Templars, and the Wardens have yet to be addressed. Then there's elven unrest and whatever's going on with the pantheon, the last couple of Archdemons, the vast amount of red lyrium tainting the countryside with no known cure, the mysterious behavior of the dwarves in Kal Sharok, and the last remaining outpost of dwarves losing the battle to stay in the Deep Roads in Orzammar. All the Inquisitor did was kill Corypheus and close the latest giant rift.
