I think this must be a bug, especially given the morality bug in the
first game, and the large number of unresolved bugs in the first game
still.

Curing the Plague for Mordin. You save his assistant-
paragon points, nice. Save game- last save spot just before you enter
non-stop combat for the cure.

At this point I get + paragon. Then I go into combat against the Vorcha.

I
get +9 Renegade, and +4 Paragon points when it's over. Every single
time. In the conversation which follows I always offer the non-renegade
suggestions.

All I did was kill Vorcha, and like 2 Krogan...+9
Renegade points upon getting to the Normandy. Even more interesting- I
only received the message that I was getting +9 renegade points one
time, every other time no message pop ups, but I get the +4 Paragon.

Really confused, and dismayed.

I got the renegade points to, and I didn't do anything but turn the fans on and put the cure in

Around that point of the game I recall getting, I think, 1 renegade point. Major question mark there for me.

Doesn't matter getting both points as they don't cancel each other. Even though I always play paragon I've found some of the renegade interrupts handy to take out enemies you're going to have to kill later anyway but in a conversation. Luckily this time round most renegade options aren't just for violent jack-asses who like bullying people.

Same happened here. Probably a bug.

I like the renegade/paragon options you can do that aren't dialog, they're just actions.

I was confused about this as well. Why am I receieving renegade points as well as paragon points when I clearly made the paragon decision and conversation choices? I need to pay more attention to this to try to figure out how it works. I'm definitely getting more p points, but I have a substantial amount of red on my bar that I didn't even intend for and that makes me think they are indeed making it very easy to go renegade in this game, which is a little disheartening. Not that I don't love a renegade Shep, but I'll be disappointed if I start to feel like the creators really WANT you to go down that road.

Same here. I haven't gotten anything that has told me that I had even got any renegade points...it kept saying paragon but when I looked at my alignment my renegade bar was almost half the length of my paragon one.

I also posted it some time ago... you sometimes get Renegade for nothing, it seems.

Well I did some research.

I think part of this is linked to the medkits you take AFTER starting the mission for the cure. I replayed the entire level 3 times last night, and I could reconcile every single Renegade point WITH taking a medkit except for 1 point.

In my case I already had full medkits, and never used them. The game may be such as thinking I'm stealing, however, it's interesting that even after you get a paragon update after saving (presumably) the medical assistant, you still don't have updated renegade points.

In all 3 play throughs the only Medkits affected were AFTER I started the Cure mission, and they retroactively give you +2 Renegade points per medkit through finishing the mission/getting the Doc.

The only thing I can't figure out is the +1 Renegade point for a total of 9.

It really sucks, who knew? Does someone have one of those store-bought guide books? Maybe you could look up the mission/level/omega and see if there are any notes? Maybe there is a morality walkthrough as per the Mass Effect Wiki?

BioWare- Is this a bug? Seems likely, you've got a number of people reporting this. C'mon already. I know that Mass Effect 1 still has bugs, is this the hip new thing? What gives?

You also get renegade points doing the last part of Grunt's loyalty quest, no matter what you say, you still get a whopping 15 points.

The game has a few glitches, especially ME1 choice import glitches - Asari Consort quest, Conrad Verner quest, A quest which involved you saving a lab over-run by biotics, and most likely more.

That's weird. Game is great in many aspects, but some parts suck - like poor PC port (hey - we DO have keyboard here), ammo pickups (why two other team members doesn't need ammo?), collector's bio rifle, firing NORMAL ammo and these random renegade points now :(

Every weapon in the game has unlimited ammo, its not the magazines you reload, its the heat containers.

And since heat is universally the same, it all uses the same "ammo" :)

It also says that Cerberus techs made the collector rifle useable with normal weapons heat containers.

Ahh... These are heat containers. Can I shout without them? Haven't tried, but I doubt it.

My favorite Renegade interrupt would have to be during Mordin's loyalty quest.

I swear that Krogan would never shut up, and finally my Paragon Shep couldn't take it anymore.

Is it just me or if there are only 2 options then u can get points u didn't want. For example when u go to join the mercs hunting Garrus, the kid w/ the 50 cred pistol walks in and u only have 2 options : the paragon and neutral. I chose the neutral and got renegade points

TrueIceD: U cant shoot w/o the heat containers. The reason(in game) is that after studying the Geth tech after the siege, the rest of the galaxy found the heat containers allowed for greater fire rate.

For example:(ME1 style) U can fire 40 shots before overheating. if u overheat then u have to wait 5 seconds for cooldown.

(ME2 style) U fire 40 shots, then reload in one second. Thats the reason for the change(in game)

But really if u took the spectre weapons and added certains mods u never overheated so the devs wanted to add tactics to combat so they added the heat sinks

I am quite sure I never got any renegade points on either that quest or grunts loyalty mission (definitely not on grunts loyalty mission). I don't remember treating the situation any differently than you have described, but I do have a large paragon bar. There are a lot of blue options, and several paragon interrupts.

So it doesn't matter - call them heat containers or ammo or icecream. They looks like ammo, works like ammo - so they are ammo. And I don't like this idea. Reload - OK, but collecting ammo - why to?

PS. Redone clinic mission without opening medkits - 5 renegade that is. WTF?

At the end of the Archangel I am getting renegade points. I have it saved in the intermission just before the last stand against the gunship.

My renegade bar is completely empty. I then proceed to beat the gunship and get back to Normandy..

I say the paragon welcome back lookin' great to garrus and still get a little renegade sliver in my renegade bar, There is never a mention of getting renegade points in the pop ups.

WTH?

If somethings a renegade action I want a pop-up.

Also a ticker under my renegade bar.

For all I know theres 3 renegade points already there (cant see em) and the 4th one is enough to make it show on the bar.

I'm thinking you get renegade points for nothing. No matter how hard i try to be good i always get renegade points for something. It's frustrating... but doesn't really affect outcome.

when I finish the plague mission I get a +5 renegade point when I select " say and look around"

I get a renegade point after getting Samara...

Renegade point for helping liara ( that COULD be because of the hacking though)

There are a few other instances that come to mind, I don't think however that I ever got more than +5 on any of them though.
