Good to see people experience the same problems. I almost got crazy after the plague mission because of the renegade point I received with my paragon femshep.

Since TrueIceD tried the option without taking medikits, maybe the reason is hacking and stealing the bank terminals. I mean robbing a bank cannot be a paragon choice. Unfortunately I dont have a save to proof this. Anyway it would really suck, if you cannot pickup all the stuff in the levels.

Shame on bioware ;)

I think this must be a bug, especially given the morality bug in the
first game, and the large number of unresolved bugs in the first game
still.

Curing the Plague for Mordin. You save his assistant-
paragon points, nice. Save game- last save spot just before you enter
non-stop combat for the cure.

At this point I get + paragon. Then I go into combat against the Vorcha.

I
get +9 Renegade, and +4 Paragon points when it's over. Every single
time. In the conversation which follows I always offer the non-renegade
suggestions.

All I did was kill Vorcha, and like 2 Krogan...+9
Renegade points upon getting to the Normandy. Even more interesting- I
only received the message that I was getting +9 renegade points one
time, every other time no message pop ups, but I get the +4 Paragon.

Really confused, and dismayed.

You probably didnt save the Batarian/human couple/assistant/looters/etc

You need to bypass a couple of doors to find people who need help.

I don't remember getting renegade points right after hacking stuff. I guess I could have missed it because I filter those notices out of my thoughts for the most part, but I doubt it. IF we are getting renegade points by hacking or "stealing" stuff, we should be let known.

Also, you get renegade points for doing neutral (as in positioned in the middle) actions sometimes, I guess

I just bought the game for PC. I started the game and imported my char from ME1. Once I get the ship, choose somewhere to go, land, and send out mny team, then I look at my renegade bar and it looks like I got 1 or 2 points.

If I reload my game before I landed, I have still 0 renegade points, but if I set out I get some, but it doesn't say I got ren points.

So what? I get renegade points for leaving the ship? I'm sorry for being OCD, but it bothers me a lot. I didn't do anything. What's the deal?

I did the Professor quest, and did everything paragon. I saved the baterie, daniel, and the human couple. I made all the correct conversation choices and tested them.

For some reason I got a +5 renegade at the completion of the quest and have no clue why. None of the online walkthroughs seem to say. Anyone figure this out?

How are free renegade points a bad thing?

Sometimes you only have two conversation options on the right, choosing the top is paragon while choosing the bottom is renegade.

However, sometimes it's only middle and bottom or middle and top, in which case the Para/Ren still applies.

That might be why.

Heck, you even get 15 Renegade points just for taking down the Thresher Maw. I don't know why, but I think certain "actions" just make you "look badass", even if you are playing paragon.

Same goes for the Vorcha the OP mentioned, I suppose.

The reason I consider them bad is because I wanted to play through getting a perfect paragon score and zero renegade points. Not that it matters, I guess I'm just being obsessive compulsive about it.

I was hoping someone had figured out if its a bug or not. Curing the plague doesn't seem like any reason to give 5 renegade points. I checked in to see because Im running my Vanguard through Omega right now.

I actually think the morality system in ME2 is pretty screwed. They give out paragon points for doing pretty evil stuff, and vice versa, Like:

Threatening to break an elcors legs = righteous decision. +5 Paragon

Telling the engineers not to gamble on my ship = Evil tyranny +2 Renegade)

Give me a break... It doesn't make any sense.

+15 renegade for killing the thresher maw? Ridiculous.

I'd hack and change my morality points with a hex editor if I wasn't afraid to break my save for ME3.
