I just started the game and being an autist stickler for ordnung, i can't stop doing the Hinterlands until i clear everything finishable in the area.

So i don't understand, what am i missing... why does everyone say get out of here? Why can't i do it in order? Finish Hinterlands, then move on to other areas?

lot of fetch quests that people think are boring. People say to leave because they don't like stay in 1 area for 10-20 hours.

Just do what you want, no reason to leave hinterlands except boredom.

The areas in DAI aren't designed to be finished at one go. For starters, the level range of enemies is quite broad, so you can run into enemies that are too hard for your level. Second, you may well become overleveled for other areas. Third, you may unwittingly/unnecessarily postpone getting new companions.

The main reason is the Hinterlands is not the most exciting area of the game and when people complain about the game being boring it's usually because they have just been roaming the Hinterlands with its millions of side quests and not moved on to more interesting parts of the game.

The other reason is that there are quests in there that you won't be able to do or finish until you unlock other things later in the game (Redcliffe for instance is unreachable until a later point in the main story), and enemies that you won't be able to defeat (or not easily anyway) until you're quite a few levels higher. And later quests will require you to go back there even after you think you've finished it all. You could almost divide it up into "low level Hinterlands" and "high level Hinterlands".

Oh and also, the Requisition quests that you get from the requisitions officer in the camps will never run out. They repeat and are basically infinite. It's supposed to be a way to gain power and influence infinitely, in case you get stuck without it (which really never happens...). I think they're really annoying. :/

I understand, OP. My husband is the same way, and I'm going to tell you what I told him. It's your game. If the idea of moving to another zone before completing the Hinterlands stresses you out, you have to do what makes you comfortable. You may want to finish the quests in the middle of the map before moving toward the south, the northeast, or the far west, but by the time you've cleared the Crossroads quests, you should be level 8-11 anyway, so the quests in the south and the far west won't be too hard for you. But definitely, definitely wait until you are at least level 12 before entering Lady Shayna's Valley. There are enough quests in the Hinterlands to reach level 12.

You also need to accept the fact that you are going to be overleveled in  other zones. All that means is that the creatures you encounter will not present much challenge for you and that the gear you find will be weak. You will never be locked out of quests because you're too powerful.

When I play, I go to Val Royeaux as soon as I have 4 power points, but that's only because I want to pick up the companions that aren't available before that. Once I have everyone on board, I go back to the Hinterlands and clear it of everything that doesn't breathe fire before making the choice between In Hushed Whispers and Champions of the Just. Yes, I'm horribly overleveled by that point, but who cares?

Key phrase:  "I just started..."

Give it time.  When you're on your 5th or 6th go through (after you decided you hated something in your character's look, or class, or you screwed up a romance) and have to restart, you'll see why we say "get out of the hinterlands".

Hinterlands is the first zone you go through.  If you re-roll a lot, or like to play alts, you'll get sick of it real soon.  And that urge to finish it...we'll start to make the game feel more like a chore than fun.  If it's your first play through, just play the game however you want.  Stay in the hinterlands for as long as you want.  Give it time.  You'll come to see things my way.
