Just like the "Is this game still active" threads that crop up numerous times, this has been asked to death. It also won't be the last.

And literally hours after you posted this, someone posted a "do people still play this game" thread!

Total coincidence.

Collectors would win because by the time the other factions figure out how to handle them, Collectors already destroyed them.

And you say Geth Prime is the lethal'ist enemy? Please, Geth Prime don't even know how to sink kill. Why the Collector Crab would just eat him without effort like he's a yummy bug.

There is no doubt that Collectors has by far strongest bosses/sub bosses. But as a faction I would still bet on Cerberus. Even if only slightly.

I would imagine while Atlas ( and goons) draws all aggro , sneaky pesky engineer able to set a couple of turrets. He would rarely draw the aggro. Then you have sneaky/smart/ most BS sync kill until called Phantom. She would most probably kill all the captains even if captains hit very hard. And then there is smoke grenades. Most annoying bs by Cerberus ever. It will confuse Captains and Abombs.

However collectors have a-bombs. If they are able to explode in middle of goon-phantom death sqaud, scions and crabs will mop up the floor quite easily.

Still IMO Cerberus would win 60% percent of time.

Reapers would kick Cerberus's ass. No one is touching Collectors for the title though.

Not convinced. :D. I can't imagine going in a Cerberus match without a anti-phantom-bs venom, scorpion, stasis, DC or Claymore. Collectors have none of those. Just the crab sync. Scion triple canon shot, carpet granede and crab butt laser? I think she will just flip-bubble to shrug it off , go in hiding, regenerate and will come back with more pew pew. And if Cerberus are hosting the game, she will also get 90% damage reduction. :)

Why reapers though?

The Geth would win every time if they led with Wave One Platinum spawns

Reapers would loose against all other factions. They don't have enough firepower in their hands.

I'd have to say that the Collectors have elements to deal with every other faction's enemies and deal with them effortlessly...you have praetorian lasers, Scion carpet bombing everything and swarmers nullifying powers.

Cerb might be the only faction that can deal with them and give them a run for their money, since in a somewhat real life scenario Cerberus would use a combat strategy to take them down...sort of like military planning whereas factions like reapers and possibly the geth just savagely attack you...well the geth might create some sort of logical attack plan as well, but i still feel overall that Cerb would be the faction that would give them the most problem.

If you give one faction player level intelligence and planning, you have to give it to the other factions, too. If we look at ME3 MP as an RTS, then I am confident I could lead the Collectors to victory over everyone else, no matter what tactics you try with Cerberus. It would be different if Cerb arrives early and has time to dig in... an area filled with turrets, covered by Nemesis snipers and Atlas for smoke screen/rockets would be dangerous. Collectors could still handle it though, just with significant losses.

There's not much you can do against concentrated carpet bombing, AoE Lasers, target seeking missiles, exploding facehuggers and burst dps infantry with shields and CC abilities.

Well i agree with what you are saying, but i never stated that Cerb would be able to defeat the Collectors. Only that Cerb would probably give them the most difficulty in combat. So the Collectors would eventually win, but it would be a tough fight. So again i think we are actually agreeing on the same concept, unless i'am missing something....

This is a very interesting forum. It got me thinking...

Cerb vs Collector

(Assuming there is no respawning of forces and just a single head to head showdown with a balanced number of forces from each)

Short Conclusion: Collectors will prevail in most cases, especially on open maps. Cerb have an advantage in bottlenecks and maps with more cover and obstacles. Scions are the decisive factor; nothing in the Cerb army can effectively close the distance to take them out)

Assuming an open map:

-Dragoons would be killed rushing abomb and PossAbomb.

-Cerb Would mop up remaining abombs at distance.

-CollTroopers and CollCapts tend to camp, as do Cerb units, so the guardians and atlas will proceed forward in the front. ANd preatorians will fly forward

-Phantoms tend to hang with Atlases in covered maps, but in the open they rush and fire hand cannon.

-Phantoms will be killed rushing into enemy forces (scions will target them first) and if they get hit they'll stop and put up bubble, so they're effectively dead pretty quick. If they don't rush and hang back things would be different, but AI vs AI won't do that.

-Atlas will shoot at the obvious target - the advancing praetorians - but it won't be effective, nor will it stagger because preatorians will put up bubble.

- Praetorians will be quick to close distance, but would likely pick a jab fight with a Guardian shield or an atlas.

-Battle woul be closer to the Cerb concentrations of forces.

-scion cannons will rip apart atlases at a distance, and praetorians will finish them off easily (unless engineers are standing behind atlas doing repairs, but not likely as they'd be wiped by butt-laser, or off putting up turrets.

-Atlases wouldn't last long, but preatorians will go down too from turrets and fire from all cerb mooks in the back taking cover.

-If phantoms are alive to melee with praetorians then maybe some of them will last a bit longer, but they'll be killed by scions well before they get to do any melee with anything else on the far side of the map

-Meanwhile, scions are still on the other end of the map shooting.

-Collectors advance, and make short work of Cerb troopers, who also advance.-

-Centurions last a bit longer with shields and smoke but can't kill at range like collectors can, so they lose out too.

-Meanwhile, all the coll captains will be spawning bees (which might actually make them vulnerable to attack)

-Bees will probably be ignored by cerberus (depends on the rules - this actually will be quite decisive).

-Smoke will give an advantage to cerb in medium range combat of mooks, and would help protect against scion fire, giving them a bit of a chance.

-CollectorCaps would overwhelm cerb, especially possessesCCs.

Anyway, it will end with:

-A funny case of Nemises running around trying to avoid fire from Scions with collector mooks hot on their tails. Turrets will take out a few collectors but the moment a scion locks on the turret is gone.

So Collectors.

And as for a showdown with respawning...Collectors again.

I see a lot of cerby votes, but not a whole lot of the guardian unit, & their magical car doors, wouldn't non sync-kill units get caught up on them? They're really annoying if you don't have penetration mods, & some times grenades won't damage them. So wouldn't a couple of guardians hold up an entire Geth spawn, or absorb the Deeepppssss of collectors for a good bit before being eating by space crabs?

Said it before but I'll never get tired of it. Collectors will destroy the rest. It's not even a fair fight.

After playing a lot more 'hack all the things' games.. Yeah. Crabs are at the top of the food chain by a huge margin. Especially the possessed ones. They can go against 2 Primes and multiple Phantoms and win with half their armor still intact. Like Slasher said, it's not even a fair fight.

Slasher is right, it won't even be a contest.

No other faction can compete with all the cheap BS the Collectors throw at you, they would sub 10 platinum Cerberus every time.

If all the factions fought each other who would win?        mmmmmmmmmmmmm..........

                                                                                        Me.

I would just pull up a seat...grab some nachos and enjoy the show.....

Watching an atlas punch a praetorian.... a prime siege pulse a banshee...... a dragoon smashing a hunter ..... a phantom sync killing possessed captains... seeker swarms nailing a cerberus engineer ... a primes turrets vs a cerberus turret  ....  abombs and husks hugging  it out....pyros flaming brutes...

I would also say Collectors with the following caveats.

If more that 2 Cerberus engineer turrets get set up in key spots, then that would be a Cerby victory.

If it was wave 2 Platinum Geth composition, then they may compete with Collectors

Cerb turrets do almost nothing against armored bosses. It takes like 7 of them about 25 seconds to kill a top tier enemy.
