I don't miss them at all.
If they were in the game, I'm guessing they'd be creepy carbon copies of each other, just like in Skyrim.
Yah, I don't mind there not being children in general... both the mages and Templar factions both have children as both groups start very young so I don't really want to think about what happened to the children with either faction given the bad things that happen to the faction you don't recruit.
You're right, DAO had more children than DAI now that I think of it.
I don't think there were any children talking in the background, at least
I don't mind that there are no kids, but I kind of miss the roving bands of cats like their used to be in Denerim.

YES. I miss those, too.
And I feel horrible when I have to kill the random feral Mabari you see out wandering the Hinterlands. So sad.
It's not that their no children. They are just not shown. With all the deaths going on, well.....
I see no need for children. Better no children than the Skyrim ones.
Ben artful what you wish for. You might just get random annoying kids like in Skyrim that you can't kill.
There's a mod for that...
I do think there should have been children here and there. It's not like they have to be NPC's that interact with you. But I kind of liked that there were some kids playing in Denerim's market square in Origins. It makes the population look more complete.
I got tired of all the clone children in DAO.
Oh, and that "child" in DA2 who had the voice of a 40 year old man.
I'll be honest, I never noticed there were no children in the game (besides Kieran) until people on the internet started saying something about it. So I guess I didn't miss them.

Maybe Cricket is like Baby Finster from Bugs Bunny, and is actually a 40 year old gangster pretending to be a child.
I swear, Idk if those grammar mistakes are on purpose or not anymore.

All the children got conscripted for the wars, Orlais now has janissaries which you'll see in DA4 when they are doing their foreign conquests and Establishing the new mighty empire of Orlais.

I would pick mistakes over mischief 90% of the time.
There's actually no such thing as children. Even in our world that's all just made with mirrors to give lazy couples an excuse for not wanting to go to parties anymore.
Children started disappearing back in DA2. Back in DAO my Dalish Warden helped tell some of their history to a whole group of children in their clan but by DA2 they had all gone. I decided that the clan must have split up when Marethari decided to head for the Freemarches and the children stayed with the other group back in Ferelden.
There are meant to be children at Skyhold; that is why Blackwall is carving the rocking horse. Also at least one of the memories in the Fade is meant to be a child who was at Haven, although we never saw any. There are children around, you just don't see them; I suppose you are meant to use your imagination or may be they are in another bit of the castle that we never visit, along with the bathing facilities that I was promised by Josephine.
What's there to miss? All BW video game children are creepy and weird, just look at Connor, that possessed girl with the cat in Shale's DLC and the starbrat.
There are dozens of things I'd rather add to the game than more children.
