Any explanation on why all other officers are dead?

One is accounted for getting cold feet and meeting with the mechs, but the others ?

Globally, i found this mission not written as well as i remembered ... maybe sleep depravation :D

Because Ronald Taylor wanted them dead (or exiled or M.I.A.).He was king and wanted the throne all to himself.

There is no explanation as to how they all died. Assume mechs or "accidents".

I didnt see him as cynical as that, but maybe. And either that or they all went with the first guy having cold feet.

(Not sure why this time this mission felt odd)

Been a little while since I have played Jacob's loyalty mission. Always was my least favorite...just like the character, along with Tali. Wasn't there some kind of a toxin, or such, which affected the crew? Or was it only the cannon fodder, not the officers? Could be the deaths of the officers were self-defence on Jacobs dad's part.

yeah, local food R toxic and neuro degenerative. So the 5/6 officers keep the ship food to themselves and start using part of the crew as sexual slaves. Then most males of the crews become aggressive and territorial while female stay servile, and one officer start feeling guilty.
At the end ronald taylor chose not to use the beacon for 8 years and killed all other officers along the way.

I used to find it quite well thougt, but not anymore...

Yeah, it does seem kind of interesting, but I still don't really understand why Ronald decided not to use the beacon. Fear of consequences?

On a sidenote, only reason I even do the loyalty mission nowadays is because the locale is a welcome change from all the claustrophobic space stations. It's outside! Not on a destroyed alien world where you could die by just tanning.

Yeah, the landscape is quite nice btw, and i used to find the mission quite good.

Ronald says they (the officers) were allready too dirty to call for help. But that doesnt make sens as there would have been no witness of their wrong doing... Maybe another officer was allready dead and no accident explanation available

Yeah he wasn't prepared to face the consequences of his actions I think that's why he didn't signal earlier. Obviously because he was running out of food he knew he was in for worse if he didn't signal at least that's how I see it.

The other officers weren't needed after they got the emergency beacon up and running and by that point they had already divided up the females and were useing them as sex slaves so they had already crossed their moral event horizon.  Once the becon was done the only thing they were doing was eating the good food and taking some of the women for themselves so Taylor used the mechs to get rid of them so he would be the only 1 left.

You get an e-mail from one of the girls you rescue thanking you so I belive that once the toxic food is removed memory and mental function does return.  The only way to avoid that would have been to kill everyone before calling for help and I don't think he had the stomach for that or he would have done it before turning on the becon.

Talyo admits that the only reason he signaled was because the hunters had become even more agrisive lately and he was afraid they were going to kill him.  If this weren't the case he was going eat the local food and join the rest of the crew while relying on the mechs to ensure he was still the only male in the camp.

I don't really enjoy the contet either but I feel that Taylor is 1 of the few people in the game that genuinly deserves to die and I can't just leave the crew their to spend the rest of their lives as mindless sex slaves and murderers as I feel they have suffered enough.

I guess U made a point. Anyway, shep/jacob conveniently learn the truth so i guess any alliance team would have.
But i dont think traynor went all the way on all the officier in one action.

I don't mean that he killed all of them or did it all at once, I highly doubt he just ordered the mechs to round them up and excute them all one day.  He may have banished 1 or 2 for a reason, like being to rough with a slave or eating to much food, or had 1 killed when no one was around.  Either way it wasn't long after the becon was complete he was the only one eating the clean food.
