Just a small suggestion, i bet your are familiar with how Mass Effect 3 had a robo dog DLC and had him running around the ship? I would love to see Bioware introduce a Mabari as a pet.
I loved having my Mabari in Dragon Age Origins and even despite not using him in combat, i love how he interacted with everyone at the camp. Image we could again have our own Mabari as a pet running around the keep and annoying Morrigan >

I Second that Idea and I hope they will add a variety of pets in a form of "pets DLC"
I would personally love to see the "Dog" from origins come back because I loved having him around, and I loved the "Can you do something about this gory mess?" option.
I fully support the Mabari Idea!
I miss my Mabari! It's just not the same without having my faithful doggy running round with me, I adored him in DA:O and was constantly summoning him in DA:2, so it feels so odd not to have him in Inquisition!
I agree and I would definitely pay extra just to have a mabari or other dog in Inquisition! 
I was honestly surprised when DAI didn't have a mabari since the previous two games did?

Especially considering they showed us concept art (of the "deluxe" DLC crap, no less) featuring a mabari.

OMG I really miss the Mabari. something about dragon age does not feel the same without the Mabari and when I am forced to kill them in Inquisition... all I can think about is my old Mabari hound and how he use to ****** of Morigan...... on a side not I also miss Shale, but that is a story for another day

I love the Mabari. Always named it after my doggie. That said, I am not thinking one would really fit in Inquisition like it did in Origins. I can just hear Viv bitching remarking about the smell.
Also, on a side note, I was -really- disappointed in getting that robomutt in ME3. When I heard my digital deluxe version was getting a canine companion, I was hoping for a pet varren or something. Jack's varren, Eezo, would have been awesome...

I would put down money in a heartbeat for this. I loved having a Mabari in the previous two DAs, it doesn't quite feel right without one. Adding a dog as a party member like in DAO might not be feasible, but adding him in as a pet around Skyhold would make me very happy.

Yeah. And maybe like the Gizka if you have them eventually they multiply and spread all over the place. I loved that in KOTOR. 
I really want them to give us back the Mabari, I think that the only animals they would be focusing on is the mounts however. which is cool... but I really want that pet companion. or at least have him running around skyhold. they could easily do a war table mission where someone who supports the Inquisition gifts the Inquisitor their mighty war hound. If Bioware wants to focus on mounts then they can make the mabari hound a big mount.... I personally think riding a big vicious mabari into combat would be cool, but I still want it as something I can interact with and do more than just ride it like a pet or companion.
