JENSEN'S BACK, GUYS!!!!

i8PL0Q7DE76vw.gif

Translation via Google Translate:

Square Enix has announced the continuation of the famous cyberpunk series Deus Ex. The new part was subtitled Mankind Divided, it will tell us about how the future society was divided into castes augmented and ordinary people. In the middle of the action will be our old friend Adam Jensen - the protagonist of the game.

As in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the events unfold in different parts of the world. For example, in Prague, Czech Republic, Jensen will have to sort things out with Victor Marchenko - an officer in the so-called Coalition of Human augmented (Augmented Rights Coalition).

The choice offers two styles of play: "quiet" passage and open battle. Artificial intelligence of enemies became better than Deus Ex: Human Revolution , play, respectively, will be more difficult. Enemies travel in groups and if suspected something was wrong, summoned colleagues together to explore the dark corners. No more single dummy.

In an open battle Jensen also have hard times: opponents bypass with flank attack of the entire group. Also at your disposal will go more useful implants. Now, Adam can not only see enemies through walls, but also scan them for electronics and ammunition. Hacker will allow the implant to hack turrets and computers at a distance (as in the Watch Dogs ).

Do you remember the blade in the hands of Jensen? In Mankind Divided is a lethal weapon will receive an alternative type of attack - Adam learned to shoot a crossbow as a blade. Fans of "noisy" passing too will be satisfied: Jensen blinds enemies smokescreen and with the help of X-ray vision shoots them from an automatic rifle.

For protection from enemy fire can be briefly activated nano-shield and then bullets will bounce off the chest of Adam. In general, mechanical augmentations of Human Revolution remained untouched, but the amount of improvement has increased markedly.

The plot of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided remains a mystery. Developers do not plan to migrate from a previous save of the series - solutions Human Revolution players will not have consequences, and none of the four endings Human Revolution will be canonical.

For this reason, we have to say goodbye to some of their favorite characters, including and ( spoiler! ) pilot Farid Malik. In one of the missions of Deus Ex: Human Revolution Farida plane was shot down on approach to the landing. Life charming pilot was in the hands of players: could repulse enemy offensive and save Malik or throw it to die at the crash site. In Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on the job we will deliver new pilot - Elias.

The developers promise that additional work will have an impact on the gameplay. For example, if Adam decides to cross the road bandits in the beginning of the game, then later one of the crime bosses can considerably spoil the blood of the main character, set on a group of bandits in the next story mission.

Game development studio is engaged in Eidos Montreal. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Release date will be announced later.

Not certain if this is legit or not. Some of the images definately look like concept art vs actual game.

Well I'm getting my Adam Jensen back (one of my favorite game protagonist) so I'm not complaining.

Though we'll see how this sequel manages to live up to its predecessor. Gonna keep the game on my radar.

Some of those screenshots are around the time when the Deus Ex Universe multimedia project was first announced.

Over at PC Gamer a russian speaker says she´s dead, not clear if in this game or in that event in the previous game (anybody really lets her die?). Also no save import, so I´m wary of which ending they´ll pick, although if this is legit is looks it´ll either be Sarif´s (mine, **** you Illuminatti)  or Illuminatti, as augs seem to be very common and Jensen is alive.

There´s at least an old PS (no idea if 1 or 2) one. It involved piloting a fuchikoma.

Square Enix and Eidos can go suck it up to someone else, their money-grabbing business practices thoroughly discouraged me from looking forward to their works.

DX:HR was a brilliant game mind you, as was The Missing Link DLC, but that whole fiasco that was the Director's Cut has simply been a sucker-punch for all those people who bought the standard game, the DLC AND the DC.

TML was intrinsically linked to the game's story, yet the DLC itself was a standalone and you had to play through HR up to a point, save, exit, play through TML, then load up your HR savegame and continue playing for an immersive experience? Yeah, how about no.

But TML is running on an improved version of the game engine that doesn't work with the basegame engine version, so we had to make it standalone, you say?

Funny, then tell me how the Director's Cut version where TML is properly integrated with the basegame is running on an OLDER built than the properly patched basegame? Oh, the DC version is augmented, you say? Okay, let me just pay extra so I can have what I already own, just in one piece. Good thing Square Enix and Eidos were so gallant in offering the DC version at a reduced price for people who already owned the game or the DLC. What, you got both of those? Well thank you for being such a great customer, but you see, it has been real hard work to roll back all those patches for the game, so we still kinda need some of your money.

But hey, as an additional incentive, we've brought back all those hilarious glitches/bugs and game crashes all of you so dearly loved from the base game. Also, be sure to buy our iOS game. It's awesome!

... no thank you.

The game was pretty bad. The only good thing about it was the intro movie.

On topic, I hope it's true.

We knew Mankind Divided would be the next game for some time since it was trademarked back in 2014.

Adam Jensen as the protagonist though? I hope this leak is true.

They're probably aiming for a release next year. Bring it on! I loved Human Revolution.

Interesting. I enjoyed DE:HR. Confused about Jensen returning as the PC though. Couldn't he, like, die in some of the endings?

Well, they did leave themselves a bit of a loophole at that particular ending because they don't exactly show him dying, it's merely implied (heavily so, but still just an implication) that he dies.

So if they don't want to do the writing for a new character, they can just recycle Jensen and either ignore the choice from the end of HR and/or handwave his survival with "he's augmented, duh".

Looking forward to this *a lot*. Not sure how they're going to handle the endings, but I'm game for this provided it's on par with Human Revolution.

Edit: Just realized, maybe we'll get a trailer as amazing as HR's back at release.

I think I'll wait for 2077 for a proper cyberpunk game again. I liked Human Revolution but it was a game I could only play once then never get back to again. There wasn't much meat on it for me, with its barebones RPG mechanics and heavy action gameplay and lackluster endings.

Aye, I could only play it once and then never again. Not saying it was bad, just that it had zero replay value for me. My stepbrother felt the same when he played it.

Anyway, sad that we're losing Faridah Malik. She was awesome, and you'd think the extra work required to save her would've been rewarded with her returning. But I guess they're gonna canonize her death.
