The sole reason I want to play the Hero of Ferelden again is to wrap up some unfinished business.

1. Reunite with Morrigan, get laid. Meet Kieran.

2. Team up with Hawke (who is a cousin in my playthrough)

3. Further develop the story on the throne of Ferelden. I made Alistair the king and married to Anora. I want to try to guarantee a future for them.

4. Find out what's happened in Amaranthine and Kal Hirol.

5. Find out what's happened in Orzammar. King Harrowmont should be approaching his death after Inquisition.

6. Help Connor Guerrin get off his ass and decide his future.

7. See the current state of affairs between Orlais and Ferelden.

8. Say my goodbyes to Wynne and meet her son.

9. Reclaim my gear! I earned Starfang, Vigilance, and all that cool armor! I deserve to start a new game with them equipped! And make them upgradeable!

10. Find out how Schmupples died. What did Leliana feed him?

I honestly don't mind if my Warden doesn't return -in person- but my major complaint about the Warden references in DA:I is that, well, it didn't really reflect how I played my character. See, my warden was a psychologically-damaged racist city elf who only did his tasks because it was either that or die, from the Blight or Loghains machinations. So the vast majority of my choices, including the big "treaty" decisions, were done maliciously. I killed Caradin in order to have Behelen's support and an army of Golems. I chose to have an army of werewolves. I said screw it to the Urn of Ashes (which was weird because Wynne was the one who got pissed off and left and not Leiliana, but I'll let the retcon slide). Well, you get the idea. And while he did like most of his companions and loved Morrigan (joining her throughthe Eluvian with the godchild pregnancy), he was ruthless and manipulative to everyone else. He worked as an assassin. He was the uh Black Wolf or whatever it was. Whatever got him the power he needed to survive, he did (there were a few good deeds here and there, at least for fellow city elves). But DA:I's letter to Morrigan and even some of the Lore stuff doesn't accurately reflect this. The letter to Morrigan should've been all about her and -maybe- he might assist the Inquisition if his own issue didn't get in the way. Every mention of him should've been about how yeah, he saved Ferelden, but did so by making sure the army that backed him was as nasty as the one he faced. He should've been controversial to more people than just retconned Leiliana.

Maybe we'll never get a resolution to his quest to find a cure to the calling (even though he took on the full services of the Architect and Avernus I mean come on), but the attitude of how we played our Wardens should've been reflected better and COULD HAVE even based on our Keep decisions. I just didn't feel it. My Warden's letter to Morrigan just felt...bland and polite. Believe me, my Warden was not polite and only would've assisted the Inquisition if only because the Inquisition was now the force that protected his wife and child. Just my two cents.

I doubt we'd be able to keep our gear or the game would be completely easy, but I'm with youi on the rest... though, I think you mean good king Bhalen, not that traitor Harrowmont ;)

The leliana thing rings true though, in inquisition it was so busy with "nice to meet you" that I never got to touch on the more personal stuff I wanted to know. I too would like to know what happened to Schmupples!

The warden has past history to talk about, a new PC just doesn't.

Probably why it was so easy to care about the mass effect characters, they were old friends, not just new aquaintances whether I liked it or not.
