A Belated Guide to Krogan Melee

Remember Whelps: sharing headbutt is an ancient Krogan tradition. Enforce it, or I'll enforce Kalros down your gullet!

 

 

Examplary suggestions, I would like to just add a little trick I've lerned with the krolord, Vs Scions.

Charge Biotic Hammer. Running melee to stun it with all your might (Important! You need a little window of opportunity: running melee give you that). Proceed to biotic Hammer. Recharge biotic Hammer. Biotic Hammer again.Target the next Scion.

 

Up to gold, it trivializes collectors, because allows you to kill scions with impunity if you spec in power damage (I suppose it is viable in Plat too, considering you're dealing 60/65% of its entire health pool). 

 

Edit: I go with only an Executioner on my Krolord, modded for power and melee damage.

The only reasons for this, it's because when you've a giant arse hammer, even shotguns are nails.

 

 

In my limited experience, scions on gold are rarely a problem for the krolord.  He does so much damage he can treat them they way his smaller kin treat brutes.  

 

For any melee build -- even melee/power damage hybrids like the krolord and shadow -- the shotgun omniblade gives you more damage output than the combination of pistol mods.  Why?  The weapon melee mods give multiplicative bonuses and there for increase your total damage.  SGOB's 1.5x total melee damage boost is a lot better than the melee stunner's 1.25x total damage.  The damage boost from the power mod will only give you another ~5-10% boost to total power damage because it is an additive bonus and only applied to the base damage of the power.  The difference in DPS is significant and nicely detailed in this thread. And that's not even considering that melee damage is relatively independent of cooldown.

 

Props though for at least using the executioner over other pistols.  Mrarrw.

Actually, the description of the Graal mentions it possessing external blades, right? something about causing wounds to a thresher maw once swallowed? It should grant a bonus to melee, I think.

Also, Krogans should have the option of using the Kishock's harpoons as spears...

Thresher Maw body parts are used for traditional armors. Teeth for daggers or cerimonial knife.

Turian hides is perfect to upholster the handle of your hammer  :wizard:

At least... clan Raik does it like that: we usually prefer blunt weapons to blades. We prefer... messy.

You have to log into the old site to see it I guess, it's a texmod or something that cuts the hm visuals by 90% supposedly. (Pc only)

For some quick explanation of krolord build I'll just quote myself:

Some recent unrest about krogans requires this thread to be bumped.  Perhaps aspirants like physiolosopher and Arkhne will find it helpful.

 

Krogan melee is still the best melee.

 

Another perk:  Headbutts lock onto manic nemeses very easily.  You'll have much more success with a headbutt to slow her down than you would with a running slap.

I like to backhands Marauders on between warp and shockwave on Platinum so that they die to the biotic explosion.

I'm not sure the Scimitar would be much worse if the clip size was zero, so..... there you go!

 

EDIT:  By the way, I never have any problem with running melee on Nemesisesises.  Unless there's smoke.  Blast those infernal Cerberus troops and their evil smoke!  The only thing you can do is headbutt wildly at anything that moves until the smoke clears.

This can be circumvented by utilizing your weapon just before you heavy melee. Your weapon damage allows them to flicker for a second for heavy melee to track properly.

true but aint nobody got time for that :P but really it is usually only for a sec (well unless using incendiary ammo) which is not much time specially if you are surrounded by a lot of these arses
