Dear developers, please make a management option for left-handed people on the Playstation 4 controller! I'm a Lefty and I use the left stick to "view", and the right stick for "move". but the default controls in the game doesn't allow that! in the end, I can't play the game, and money wasted:((( In many other games the developers did not forget about left-handed ! I hope for you!

Well, I'm left-handed, too, but after so many years playing with righty controls, I'd likely be uncomfortable playing southpaw. I did notice that the Mass Effect games have southpaw control options, but the more recent Dragon Age games didn't. Makes sense for Origins not to, as its design is more keyboard & mouse-based than controller-based anyway. But, DA2 and DAI were made with controls catering to controller users rather than KB&M-using PC players. This made DA2 really annoying on PC, though, because despite it being made with consoles in mind, they still didn't allow controller compatibility for PC players. I primarily play on PC, myself, but insist upon using a controller whenever possible, as most PC games try really hard to give players carpal tunnel. :P

Tangent aside, since this is their first Dragon Age game that's controller-compatible on all systems, it could be a good idea for them to keep southpaw players in mind, at least for future installments. Not sure why they didn't have it from the get-go, DAO and so on, for console players, though, especially since ME console players always had it. It'd be nice if they could patch a function like that into DAI itself (and a function to disable the forced tutorial, for that matter) for others like you, but if Bioware was willing to fix the mistakes they made in DAI, we'd end up with a completely different game (which would be a good thing, all things considered).

Never met a lefty that swaps the stick functions before and the idea never even occurred to me. I'm also a lefty, but I don't think that I could function with that scheme. But hey, if it work for you then it works. Seems like a good idea anyhow, seeing as it's been in other games they've made.

More options in control schemes is always good. I'm a lefty myself and wouldn't use it but hey, nevermind me. I'm weird. I use the lefty configuration on the mouse but with my right hand. It's not edgy, just used to swap with which hand I used the mouse and I got lazy about changing the configuration lol.

I can't even use a mouse with y left hand. HA! Left hand is dedicated to ASWD. I also use a right oriented trackball mouse, so there's that.

I'm left-handed. It has never even occurred to me that I somehow need to have controls switched around on a controller. That just makes absolutely NO sense at all.

As lefties, we adapt to the right-hand-orientated world around us. Because we know that unless we are flexible and adapt, we are going to run into a lot of problems.

So OP, I think you are just trolling.

I'm not the Troll. there is someone trolling to do without me. I just want to be able to swap the functions of the joysticks. and questions of the universe are not considered here

As right handed gamer who is extremely comfortable with almost all "normal" control schemes I don't see any reason why EVERY SINGLE control in a game can't be mapped to the players tastes. This isn't the 80's and I can't see this option taking up any sort of a games resources that would be noticeable. And while you're at it why is the mouse and keyboard disabled if I have a controller plugged in and vice versa? Why can't I use both? Maybe I like to walk around with a controller and do combat with a mouse.

I'm left handed too, and on PS4.

Most games, by default, use left stick to move and right stick for camera angles. I've got no issue, all it takes is some getting used to.

I think because the UI changes so drastically when you plug a controller in is the reason you can't use both simultaneously. It's kinda dumb, but that's how it is.

I am lefted handed too and do often remap the key, but I haven't thought about in  Dragon Age because I use both sides of the controller anyway.

The two thing that troubles me is the bottem to interact in banter and the radial menu which I really, really wish were on the other side.'

edit and not all lefties can adapt to a right handed world. There is thing (such as cutting) that I can't do because nobody thought to teach me how to use my left hand to do it when I was a child and now I can't use either.

Lots of left-handed people here! I'm not, but I've thought about this for years, so I thought I'd share my thoughts. I personally never understood why a "left-handed" option for controllers is particularly needed. (More needed for mouse and keyboard, but that should always be a non-issue if you can remap keys.) The controls for controllers never struck me as particularly "right-handed", save for the right triggers generally being used to attack. But... why does that matter? You're not throwing balls around a court or writing with a pen. Why does it matter which buttons do what? You use both hands. Is movement considered a left-handed thing? Aiming, right-handed? Of course not. I'm somewhat-surprised and glad many left-handed people seem to agree.

Now, I don't want to sound mean, but the only advantage I see to adding a southpaw option would be simply allowing people who use southpaw to not have to relearn the controls. But that just seems a bit counterproductive to me. I think a much better use of resources would be adding an option to choose which hand is your main in-game. I doubt switching the animations to the opposite hand would be too hard. Cutscenes would be annoying to do though, so I'm not expecting this feature, just thought it would be cool.

I you have a bad hand eye coordination or/and fine motorik (is it name such in English?) in addition to be being lefthanded small things such as using a controller can be difficult.

Granted playstation 4 games is one of the less bad consoles (the worst is the ds and the mobiles/tabtlets), but I had to give up on mass effect for example, because I could not control it and there are plenty of other such example.

Generally for me personally if I have to play a game were I has to react to fast with the right hand, I am in trouble because my left reacts and I can't untrain that.

Other than that. Giving people to remap they bottoms is just a good curtesey if at all possible. People might have handicaps that can make their fingers stiff or unmoveable for example.

Not trolling or hating, but lefties who aren't able to adapt have bigger issues than living in a right-handed world.

But funny story on the subject of cutting and being a southpaw, I am forever switching my knife and fork between hands when I am eating something that requires both knife and fork (such as steak) because I can't ever decide which way is more comfortable. Though just using a fork or spoon, I always use my left hand. :P

All of my strength activities, such as swinging a baseball bat I do with my right hand and all of my precision things such as writing or using scissors (minus the knife and for thing) I do with my left hand.

But oddly enough, my manuscript looks like chicken scratch when I attempt it wit my right hand and my cursive looks BETTER when I use my right hand.

I know how that is. I can cut with the fork and knife with wichever hand, but moving the food to my mouth with my right hand is really awkward. So even if I cut with the knife on my left I still have to pick up the fork wiht my left.

True. I can't write with my right hand.. and believe me, I've tried.

I, however (and only just realized) move the mouse on my PC, with my right hand. It's so natural for me that I didn't even realize until I came across this thread.

That still implies zoophilia, but in a "threesome" sense. I.e I direct the mouse to move on my PC's (Inquisitor's) body.. interesting though, I thought people only did that with gerbils. I suppose mice could work too.
