Beating a dead horse, well more like shooting one with a .50 caliber sniper rifle, I know, but i want Bioware to know that we haven't forgotten the injustice they did us by giving us these hair styles.

I am the type of person that i can not play a game in which I don't like looking at my character, and all of my mains in my games are Human or Elven Female archers. There is the issue. The female hairstyles in this game are garbage. PLEASE Bioware, give us more, or release modding tools so that this game could be worth playing over playing through Origins for the 12,745th time.

I'm with you, but I don't think it'll ever happen. There are alot of things wrong or missing from this game, and BW just pays little attention to them.

They're are never enough threads pointing out the dire situation of the game's hair options.

So help me, Maker, if the delay for Black Emporium was a business decision related to exclusivity rights and not because they wanted to add content to the expansion, I will flip my lid. The delay should be used to add customization options. I'm with you, OP.

Back around before Patch 5, BioWare announced that they were going to release the Black Emporium.  They wanted to do it by Patch 5, unfortunately it still needs testing.  Last I heard, the Beta testers for TBE were under a NDA.

You think BE will have improved hairstyles? Just for that I would fire up the game to mod my character.

Developers at Bioware have never been any good with hair designs. I mean, I get the whole issue with long styles clipping through armor and stuff. But what about the potentially infinite shorter styles??? Where are they? Why are they missing from this game???!!!

And the facial hair....probably the worst I have seen in any Dragon Age game. No...ANY game released in the last 5 years.

Take Skyrim, for example. Released in 2011 using vastly inferior technology than what can be achieved in Frostbite 3. And yet, the facial hair options in Skyrim, as well as the hair styles, are vastly superior to DAI's pathetic selection of ill-fitting beards and hair styles.

DAI is supposed to be an RPG, i.e. ROLE PLAYING GAME! But apparently, Bioware completely missed this little detail which is rather important to get right.

What are some of the most popular mods for RPG games? HAIR!!!

But yes, we are flogging a dead horse.

There is no way the Black Emporium is going to include any improvements in this area. the Bioware devs are simply not capable enough to produce. I will eat my hat if they prove me wrong. My buffalo hide hat.

Don't care if its beating a dead horse or not I am in full favor of better hair. I'm still rather confused on some of the hair choices made, and I swear there are at least two hairstyles on there that are exactly alike just placed on different spots on the slider. Also the ability to change the hair color like you can the eyes would be nice as well.

I'll keep beating the dead horse if I can use the horse's mane, tail, and hide as additional hair options in Inquisition.

It will look better than what we've got XD

To be fair, I suspect they deliberately restricted the hairstyles. They are making a political statement by not allowing your female character to be traditionally 'pretty', which would be conforming to a misogynistic narrative pandering to the male dominance of gaming. So if there are going to be new hairstyles in the Black Emporium, I would expect them to be 'pretty'.

'Traditionally pretty'? What is that nonsense I'm reading here?

Did you even see a female that counts herself as beatiful?..

Is she anything like those CC buzzcutted monsters we have in DAI?

Or a developer with a history of not offering many aesthetic choices for player characters and particularly not offering good hair choices, continued its trend of not offering good hair choices.

I mean I'm a great believer in the power of hair to make political statements and as a medium for gender progress, but I suspect BioWare isn't.

I think "injustice" might be putting it a bit strongly, but I wouldn't mind a few more options.

I would love it if BioWare would allow mod/user submissions for hair styles.

Not just a photo someone found on the internet, but the actual code used to make the mod. If it was something BW could just plug and play into the vanilla game, maybe it would be something they would support? Little work on their end, but high payoff for the players? Then push a patch out?

They could actually make a contest out of it. Top [x] number of hair styles, voted on by the community, make it into the game. Imagine the squees! :D

Just a thought.

The concept art for the game and some of the 3D models showed some awesome hairstyles. What we actually got in game though is complete rubbish, i was going to choose a female for my inquisitor until i saw that the long hair had sideburns. The Qunari desperately need new hairstlyes and an option to choose hair and horn style separately.

Well,This has been asked a thousand of times...And Bioware don't give a hint about it...That is the problem of big developers, they don't have much time to interact with their audience...I don't know if they really take more than 25% of the feedback we give them...But it would be nice at least a "We can't do that" or "We have something planned"...

I know some little game developers wich give to much attention to their gaming community, and that interaction and response is great. They really hear the fans and always keep us informed...So I feel more welcome in little free to play games than in Big games where you needd to spent to much money to play...

Eh, I agree and disagree. Yes it is difficult for big companies to respond to their community, but a lot of them do it. ArenaNet I feel is very good at this. Granted they aren't AS large as bioware, but it should be a priority for them and size is no excuse.

Then...this.

Stupid sideburns.

Yeah, i wanted my Qunari to look like the Arishok but he looks like a bald human with horns, shame really. We know Bioware can do hair properly, Morrigan and Josephine are perfect examples of that, why the hell they don't give the players something similar to work with is beyond me.

Come to think about it. Our quadruped has a tail = long hair.  I suppose if you cut that tail and place it on our quizzie's head, we get clipping(s)... hehe
