I'd give my mage Rapunzel hair if I could, but since I know there are rendering issues with that, I'd settle for the return of some of the shorter styles from DA2. Like the swoopy bangs one. I wish we still had that one.

I'd just like some simple braids and more unique options for character hair. Instead of sharing a hairstyle with every other NPC. Hell one hair style that I've been wanting so badly since I've seen it is something close to Morrigan's hair I freaking love her hair its just lovely.

Clipping Smipping. Reminds me of my kids whining its toooo haaarrrd.
There is an obvious partial resolution to this.
When the inquistor is in most armosr the hair is up. When they are in Skyhold, certain long hair styles are displayed as down.
Then add an rare armor style where the hair displays as the long version(s) and call it resolved improved.

Yeah, I've wanted more dynamic hair for a while, and having it up during exploring and down at Skyhold would be an awesome start. They could do it... if they wanted to. Also, the infamous clipping: There is still tons of clipping in DA:I, including stuff like shoulder pauldrons clipping through heads, etc. and to be honest, it doesn't really bother me. It's not worth taking out pauldrons to have no clipping, and it's not worth taking out a massive array of hairstyles either. I wish Bioware would look for innovative ways of solving problems, instead of choosing not to confront them at all.

The newest patch will fix the long-standing issue of beards floating off-center and off your face. At the very least, this tells us that Bioware has heard our complaints about the hair issues in CC (and really, how could they not?) and are addressing at least some of them.
This gives me a lot of hope that we'll see other significant improvements to the CC that we've been asking for. If not in the Black Emporium, then sometime down the line.

We all know they can do hair, Morrigan from DA and Ashley from ME are proof of that. It's just that the design team are lazy and refuse to put the effort in where it's needed, the fetch quests, limited character creation options and lack of armour and weapon variations is proof of that. I've looked at some posts with people who have posted a picture of their inquisitor and guess what............they all look the same because the options are so poor and limited. They can use the excuse of "clipping" all they like, the hair we currently have clips and glitches all the time so i put it down to them being lazy.

Yeah, if they didn't add it with the DLC where the ability to change your PCs appearance was one of the same selling points, they aren't doing it.

the last hope I have is that since now there is a way to change appearance in game, maybe they will make something in the future? Sigh. I need some poistive thinking, even if is just an illusion.

I still consider it possible that they are adding this in the future but that it has low precedence at the moment.

Here's what I'm clinging on to:
1. The next patch re-aligns beards so that they're not floating off of our faces and not growing out of our upper lips. This means that, despite radio silence, Bioware is aware of at least *some* of the issues in the CC and is addressing them.
2. The "Dragonslayer" update. Specifically Isabela. With Isablea added to the MP, we see that Biowae has created and added new, good-looking female hair into the game.

Again, despite NOTHING being said from Bioware, clearly they can create new, good hairs and add them into the game.
I just wish they'd talk to us.
"Yes, we're adding hair."
"No, we're not adding hair"
"We have plans to add hair latter, but it might not work out."
Just freaking talk to us already so we know whether or not to keep hoping for more and better hair options down the road :/

It's quite frustrating seeing they CAN do good looking hair for NPCs and MP (that not everyone can/want to play. I expecially don't like Isabela, so is a complete NO for me.) but they don't dare to give them to the players. ![]()
I have a cute female elf. I wanted to make her a very stricht character, almost militaristic. And since she is a mage, I wanted to give her a ponytail. But the only hight ponytail have a manly hairline!!! She have more balding than Cullen!!!
Really, if they had at least used REALLY unisex hairstyles... not male ones slapped on female characters, it would not be such a problem for many of us!!! ![]()
And at least tell us something, so we know they listen. Even a "sorry, we can't give you hairstyles for X reason." would be better then they not addressing the issue at all. ![]()

While I'm 100% behind the "more hair options" push, keep in mind that designing a hair model for a single specific character with a fixed outfit is different to designing one that can be used by a range of characters and with different outfits found within the game generally. Having a character creator places certain limitations on what is possible, especially if they are keen to avoid major clipping issues, when compared to designing models for fixed characters (take a look at Naughty Dogs model for Joel from TLoU, or Nathan Drake from Uncharted to see the difference in detail that is possible in a fixed model).
However, since clipping issues are rife in DAI, worrying about them with the CC seems fairly pointless. Personally, I'm willing to put up with some clipping if it means we get some more hairstyles to choose from.

I readily admit to not knowing diddly-squat about game design or development. I hope that wasn't the message I gave off, because that's not the case.
It's just something that stands out because people have been requesting more and better hairs since before the game even released. And here's another new character that has beautiful, well-made, natural looking hair that isn't available for SP characters to use ![]()

That cool, and in principle, I agree. All I'm saying is that it's not as simple as copying the Isabela hair across to the CC. Designing hair models that will fit the various race models and all the clothing models in game takes a lot more work than designing one for a specific character.

The clipping issue can be used only to exclude long hair. But braids, ponytails, good looking short/not shaved hair don't give these kind of problem. A non balding hairline doesn't clip, I think, right? ![]()
Cassandra's, Sera's, Calpernia's, Leliana's and Josie's hairstyles don't have clipping problems. Importing those hairstyles to the CC should not be such an effort, right? after all, we had Josie change her hairstyle just before the game was out. I hightly doubt thay re-made the entire head model jsut to change Josie hair. The companions hair are a mesh like the player's ones.
So, why don't let us use those hairstyles??? or at least give use the old Josie's hairstyle. I would not refuse it. ![]()
But BioWare always had this strange ideas. Like forcing a beige PJ on players or not letting us use Hawkse's canon hairstyle on a custom Hawke, Same for FemShep in ME3. ![]()

I don't know how feasible it would be, but I would love having the default FemShep hair available for the DA games. It's short, practical and I think that a lot of folks might enjoy it. From one of my own Shep characters. I'm using a mod for the hair, but it looks no different here than it does on a default Shep. The part in the hair and the rest are exactly the same as it would like on a default FemShep:

One of the things I will never understand: the restriction of the only good hairstyle for FemShep. It always felt like a punishmant for those who want theie own Shepard ![]()
I'll take it and the shorter one (the only new one Shep had) in a moment for my elves.

One of my forum buddies mentioned that style would have looked great on their red haired/green eyed elf. I don't think the ME team was trying to punish those that wanted a custom or imported Shep. I do know that game was kinda rushed and they probably just didn't have time to make sure that hair style fit. Prior to someone releasing a hair mod, it took going deep into the settings for gibbed to change several of the correct values to get it to fit right. That's easier for a mod author to do in their spare time than the devs. However, I don't see why the devs couldn't take such an awesome style and get it to work for at least the female models for DA:I. I'd be willing to pay for it too. Once I got the hair mod for my Sheps, I haven't looked back. I could see myself doing the same in DA:I. I don't know how feasible it is, but it's a request. ![]()

That happened with femHawke too.
That's why it feel a punismant trend for wanting a more unique protagonist. In this I like much more DAI's CC. It may be limited in hairstyles and eyebrows, but at least I don't have to limit my characters to have decent hair. (there are none for everyone beside NPCs)
