Hey everybody,

for some reason, I wanted to create a thread that collects the locations of all the (more or less) interesting inhabitants of the Skyhold. I'm simply listing whatever I was pleased or excited to notice, ground breaking or not. Who will show up, where are they, why do you care? Are you missing someone?

To clarify, I mean those "flavour" cameos; not obvious folks like party members, vendors or advisors.

  • Stroud, Alistair or Loghain will actually be where Hawke is initially met, between meeting them in Crestwood and completing Here Lies the Abyss, and can be talked to.

  • Luka is sitting at the well near the stables, Argent is leaning on the railing under the bird cages in Leliana's attic. Neria the Keeper wanders around an upgraded garden, sometimes accompanied by Cirian. A random three of the remaining agents are always having a chat above the entrance gates, outside Cullen's office.

  • All Haven survivors are randomly strolling around the courtyard or the gardens.

  • Fiona is staying inside the library when siding with the mages, but I haven't been able to find Ser Barris yet. Is he even around?

  • The trainers will stay in the Skyhold - curiously, I noticed that the Artificer trainer will sometimes chat with Varric, while the Assassin trainer can sometimes even be found standing next to Cole (probably trying to have a conversation but the joy of paint-...assassination)

  • Some emissaries and allies can be found going about their business in the Skyhold, too - Michel du Chevin and Fairbanks both pay regular visits after completing their respective quests.

  • There is an NPC appearing in somewhat hidden places (tavern attic, gate-wall-side of the stables, keep basement) asking you trivia/lore questions about the Dragon Age world. If you answer three questions correctly, he will give you a reward. He also makes awesome mysterious wind noises, which are very mysterious. (Not the reward)

Feel free to discuss, correct or add to this list!

One thing I find interesting about this is that I have never, ever, not once, ran into them walking up the stairs and out the door to the gardens from the courtyard or vice versa.  Also, on a side note, it saddens me that Lysette is not more prominent in the game.  I felt there was potential there for a Templar agent.

Too bad the Haven people get fired even if you save them.

This definitely belongs near the top of the WTF pre-release decisions made by the devs?

All the trainers will hang out with the companions who use the same specialty and a few others. You can hear all the interactions here, if you're curious:

After two playthroughs I never thought Stroud actually stayed around!!! I was wondering this entire time, Hawke stayed... Where the hell is Stroud?

I've caught Helaine (KE enchanter) chilling out by the sparring ring (if you have it) a few times--But usually she's in Vivienne's room with her.

Also, you get a Librarian if you invest in enough of Leliana/Spy points for Skyhold.  Not super interesting, but he's someone you can chat with and get a little Skyhold fetch quest from.

Master Dennet with the horses!  I guess that might be common knowledge, but I never actually knew I could recruit him until my second playthrough, heh.  You know, he just hnags around, calling me 'Inquisition' and all that.

And of course Sutherland, Voth and Co., at the tavern.  I forget the other members' names, but they have different banter after each quest and pretty sure Sutherland is sweet on the girl.  They are like, playing their own Dragon Age game basically, with adventure, romance and all :)

Ser Barris isn't present in Skyhold. If you complete all his War Table operations, you can promote him to Knight-Commander.

The girl rogue in Sutherland's group is Shayd.

Erm who are Luka, Argent, Neria and Cirian?

Loranil is another agent like Michel and Fairbanks who walks around skyhold. Where are the others though like Sky Watcher and Corporal Vale?

Oh no wonder, I don't play MP. I like their armors though.

You get him, if you have the Enhanced Studies perk.

With my tempest inquisitor, was standing in the room with Sera and Kihm, the tempest trainer.

He says 'the storm approaches. We get to say that' and it was totally right lol

Vale?

He never leaves The Hinterlands.

Has anyone spotted Agent Charter after moving to Skyhold? The last time I saw her was back in Haven, before Cory attacked.

Doesn't she take over at the fort in Crestwood once the Inquisition takes it?

Too bad the Haven people get fired even if you save them.

Some of them have little story such as Flissa going religious or Seggrit and Threnn being pretty much fired.
Adan and Minaeve on the other hand felt pretty random - I would expect Adan in the Undercroft near the potion tables and Minaeve becoming an agent after your first conversation in Skyhold.
Lysette does the same nothing as she originally did, but her staying in Skyhold seems fine, if mages were conscripted.

Shame we can not talk to MP characters, not necessarily dialogues, maybe just one-liners when clicked on, could even recycle some MP lines - Assassin remembering her bird and Keeper commenting about Maker would make some sense given their location, Alchemist keeps saying random stuff anyway.

Yup, she does. I think she's a commanding officer among Leliana's spies, like Harding commands the scouts.

She's also one of the quest givers in the Multiplayer, alongside Captain Rylen, the Suledin-Keep-noble-guy and the three advisors.

Or romance them.

I couldn't find Your Trainer anywhere :( Neither the Necromancer dude. Shouldn't they hang around Solas and Dorian? At least Helaine is always on Vivienne's balcony.

When I became a Tempest, my trainer was in Sera's room, just standing against the wall and watching us. Creepy!

I run into Fairbanks and Michel quite a bit, but I've never seen Ser Barris except the time I got to promote him. I couldn't stop smiling! My fav moment in the throne room all game!

Bonny Sims is right across from the Left stair case that leads up to where Cullen is. You can buy and sell stuff from her, but that's about it.

Not a very important npc, but I just like the way her name sounds.

I find Helaine in Cullen's office, or out in the courtyard as well. I also have yet to find the other trainers.

So much for having choices as the Inquisitor in the game, right?

I think a Darkspawn Magister and rifts throughout the land are more important than deciding wether to keep semi-useful NPCs, Segritt in particular only sold junk.
