I'm really enjoying the new dlc but what I found a bit odd is that veil quartz doesn't seem to respawn at all. I went a few times back to the quartz located near the starting camp but nothing. Then I started to wonder if it might be a bug or if it's same for everyone. Couldn't find any info about it by googling. So bug or not? 

 

If I remember correctly, there's only three locations for VQ; 1 on a ledge near the main camp and 2 near the cave where Storvacker was being held. Have I missed some locations perhaps? I just got the ice wall down, so I don't know if there's any VQ to be found beyond that one. And yeah, I do know you also get them from rifts.

It appears to not respawn. The third location is above a veilfire on a ledge by the Faded-Touch Monster (A Father's Name quest). Its not by the main camp, but when you do the quest, you'll know what I'm talking about

This is pretty frustrating as you can make only one or maybe two pieces of gear with it...

You can acquire unlimited veil quartz by farming fade rift remains like treasure chests--i.e. leave one item in the green goo pile, leave the zone, and come back.

Yeah, that's exactly what has been annoying me, as well.

Wait...what? Those big green rift remain blobs on the ground actually work like chests farming vise? Well what do you know... I have to try that now. Thanks.

Really? I just got to Skyhold on my new playthrough, so I haven't gotten a chance to test yet. I did kinda still wonder if it was truly possible because I've always thought that those blobs act the same way the enemy drops work if you leave them, which is disappear. I could test this on one the rifts outside the dlc, though.

ABNDT and Magentaman215, thank you both for the confirmation. That's great to hear. I just got to Skyhold and unlocked the Frostback Basin, so I'm gonna start farming VQ as soon.

Thanks for the info, people. Also, I doubt they'll patch this just because they said specifically that they admitted they need more tier 4 materials in JoH.

Ive found 4 spots for veil quartz. 2 swamp, 1 by fade touch monster and 1 by Cliffside camp inside a huge log u have to get on by the veilfire and hop down inside the log.
