 Dear lord, this boss is hard. Is there any specific way to defeat her? I tried taking out the tentacles first- my Boss Fight senses were tingling, but that didn't seem to do much of anything. Then the Darkspawn showed up, and started whittling down my characters health, slowly but surely.

Any advice on beating her? My party consists of My Dalish Warrior, who has mastered dual weilding (pump dex build), Alistair, Morrigan, and Zevran, who I keep on ranged for this fight, due to his mostly glass cannon status.

I can proudly say I defeated her after my second attempt (I've had difficulty all the way before getting in the deep tunnels, but not there.)



First of all, I would advice you to never enter her in close combat unless your party is at full health and that there are no monsters around. Other than that, defeat the darkspawn before killing the tentacles. (On the second darkspawn attack, I've surprisingly haven't been attacked by them while I was away from the brood mother.) Then, if you'd like to try like I did, cast range spells from time to time (as soon as the cooldown time is over) at her, although you can simply assign zevran to continually attack her. That's only because I had no other ranged attacker.

Couple things here from what i learned after failing miserably. Darkspawn come in waves at a predetermined set % of her health. ex 70% and 40%(just made those up.) One VERY important thing to realize is the tentacles cannot burrow up through the stone slabs. Sit your ranged on those slabs. Fight the darkspawn and tentacles from there. Once everything is down you can go melee her if you want, or just sit everyone on the rocks plinking away with ranged weapons.
