I just started using this class, and I notice that a lot of times when I activate TF, my assassin doesn't "lash out" he just does the striking animation without moving forward toward the enemy. This, of course, causes my stealth to dissipate and then I am left exposed.
This happen to anyone else? Suggestions? The odd thing is that it doesn't happen always, just often.

You're definitely correct on that account. The funny thing is, sometimes I will target someone like 15 yds away and leap across the screen to get them!
TF targeting can be quite wonky at times, especially against moving targets. Make sure your target is stationary before using it, and that you're within range, and it should be ok.

Subpar tracking, just like a lot of the MP features.
It doesn't always happens with TF, other skills and even normal attacks to the same. but is not more baffling than using Shadow Strike and not hitting the enemy even being besides him.
